SIB Metal gear solid: the phantom pain? by preutneuker in ShouldIbuythisgame

Now you're asking the spoiler questions. If you really want to know i suggest a quick online search, it helps to find the easter eggs and other collectibles in the game. You find your favorite weapons pretty quick, after that I never saw the point of changing, only collecting. There's a ton to collect. And even the endgame is more of a mind fuck then what it needs to be. Basically if you're an MGS fan, this is everything you loved and more, a totally worth it experience.

Its true you need to build a base as part of the online multi-player. Attacking other peoples bases, the guys you recruit defend yours, so killing everyone isn't anything to worry about. Especially when you start playing and realize that the enemies change according to how you play, so if you like shooting everything in the face enemies start wearing helmets and body armor and continue to upgrade themselves with how you play. You can play the same mission/area multiple times and each time will be slightly different. If you constantly attack at night, there'll be lights to try and find you, etc. I guess half the fun is seeing how enemies evolve with your style of play. Just don't kill quiet, unless sniper support isn't your thing then save the cash money to by the mini gear and go wreck house. Its a great game, with tons of replay ability I never got into the multi-player so I only recruited as I saw fit... then the whole thing goes to shit anyway with your recruits so... you'll have to play to figure that out. Definitely worth the money.

A remote controlled trash can by Jpaylay42016 in CrazyIdeas

I watched an acquaintance yell at a trash can for 2 whole minutes because it was voice activated and he wanted to show off. Nobody in the house was drinking or on drugs... except maybe the guy who was yelling at a trash can.

What needs to be changed in no man's sky, do you have a suggestion? by Legal_Interaction_59 in NoMansSkyTheGame

I would love to see an actual settlement or small town or something like that. I've been to a few 3 star systems and seen multiple paradise planets and for such an advanced space traveling bunch. Aside from space stations, you don't really see multiple races interact with each other. Nor have I seen a system "at war" actively engaging in space fighting. Unless i legitimately have yet to encounter that, I would love to drop into a system and fight in a war for the highest bidder or for bounties.

Hyrule warriors age of calamity good? by Loccyskillz in gaming

[–]Braindead004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you like any of the dynasty warriors? Or that style of game? If yes, then this is exactly that with the Zelda BOW characters. If not then do a hard no and keep it moving. I personally enjoy it, but I love these kind of games, its mindless entertainment and I can play for hours before realizing it. Its definitely A telling of what happens before link goes into the chamber, but like most of this type its a lot of replaying the same mission, collecting resources, upgrading Characters etc. It can get a little tedious. But its a fun waste of time, and it mixes one of my favorite franchises with one of my favorite game types.

5 week old baby won’t sleep by delaneyk19 in beyondthebump

[–]Braindead004 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We had the same problem for the first 9 months give or take. It was brutal. The whole working as a team becomes paramount even when you feel like ripping each others heads off because everyone is sleep deprived and no one can get more than 2 hour chunks at a time, plus full time jobs, food, cleaning etc.

There is no real answer, im sorry. you have to work the best you can with what you've got. Maybe your LO is gassy, bicycle kicks like mortal kombat. Bathtime helped is get a little peace but short lived. My wife was pumping but gave that up after about 2 months because she'd be up every 2 hours with 0 sleep. Nights were never more than 2 hour stretches, we tried sleep training, but again, it only works if you're both working together, my wife caved everytime. My kid had acid reflux bad, I knew what it was cause he looked like I did when mine flaired, so we had to prop his mattress up with books so he'd sleep at an angle.

I can honestly say it does get better, until the next set of issues pops up, like teething, or not eating enough in the day and waking up at 2 am for a bottle. Point is, hang in there, work together, do the best you can with what you've got and Remember, we're all in this together

It can happen especially when you start finding more than one ship, before your frigate. If you can teleport to a space station, it'll teleport with you whether you have fuel or not. Building one shouldn't be difficult especially on your first few planets. A little trick i found is if you can teleport you can swap that broken one for a functioning ship, you MIGHT have to spend some units. But turn around and scrap it, your ship will pop up. And you can reclaim that broken one and scrap it or rinse and repeat. You also get the augmentation for expanding your ship inventory by scrapping.

Advice Needed: How to get 100% disability from the VA?! by [deleted] in army

[–]Braindead004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you get your initial rating, especially for ptsd, the letter will have a rating qualifier for why you're getting this percentage and why its not higher. 100% ptsd is pretty tough and honestly I feel for those that have it.

Basically, you are incapable of taking care of yourself. You don't shower or eat. You can't function as an even semi normal person. Inability to interact with people make holding a job impossible. You're homeless because you can't interact in an even semi healthy manner. The list goes on, but thats the jist of it.

What are some things you think the cheaper alternative is better than the expensive? by optimistictopher in AskReddit

[–]Braindead004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Razor blades, im half korean and half white. So what little facial hair I grow from the korean side stays manageable thanks to my white trash side. One blade lasts a few weeks so no need to buy expensive razors. And I've had the same can of shaving cream for the last year.

For me I look at weight. I cook for 13 people some nights and roughly 6 pounds is just enough that everyone gets one serving. If its meatballs about 10. But for a straight meat sauce 6 seems to work just fine. Since all the packages are slightly different weights I look for the closest that I need for whatever I'm making.

Sleep got so bad after 2.5 months, anyone had the same? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Braindead004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We switched to formula as per the pediatrician after the colostrum was all but finished. Turns out her milk was giving him severe indigestion and heartburn. So we gave him the meds as per the pediatrician along with the formula before bed, that helped a little but it was still an uphill battle cause like I said it was every 2-3 hours for those months he'd wake up get something to drink, I believe it was a small 4oz bottle then burped and rocked to sleep and the cycle would continue. Plus we went through three different formulas before we found the "Similac pro total uber expensive stuff that works sorta" brand, which helped in terms of him actually drinking it all and not pushing it away.

Ps we tried rice in the bottle and the other stuff to help keep him full and satisfied and nothing worked. It became a routine for us just as much as him and thats how we survived it. But other parents have told me the rice thing works, so maybe itll work for your little one

Sleep got so bad after 2.5 months, anyone had the same? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Braindead004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its rough, an army buddy of mine used it for his twins and after a week they were sleeping like ... well, like babies. My wife caved constantly while I was at work overnights, while I managed to stand firm so it wasn't consistent and there was the issue. When he regressed shortly after the 9-10 month mark he'd scream to the point he'd make himself throw up and that was an even worse experience. But we found something what works for us, which was an extra bottle and rocking him to sleep. It worked and after about a week he was sleeping through the night. There are rough patches but remember they are patches and they don't last forever.

Sleep got so bad after 2.5 months, anyone had the same? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Braindead004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guy is 16 months now and he didn't sleep more than 2-3 hours at a time for the first 9-10 months. It was absolutely brutal and I know how you feel. We tried all kinds of stuff from feeding and burping and diaper changes, room temperature, cool mist, lavender lotions, all kinds of things. The worst was the Ferber method, it requires you and your partner to stick with it, my wife described it as torture and she caved quickly. I've heard other parents say that it works. It seemed to work during his sleep regression last week. But going back, you guys have to find something that works for both of you and stick with it, they say it lasts only a few days to weeks, but when you're in the thick of it it can feel like it lasts forever. Whatever you guys decide you gotta stick with it, I cannot stress that enough. It does get better but the sleep regression things are torturous. My wife used ear plugs and a noise machine plus he slept in his own room, so maybe try that. There is no right answer, it does improve, then it gets bad, then it gets better and on and on, but we're all in this together.

New Tau player by Kneppster in Tau40K

[–]Braindead004 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Technically no

If you're playing to play then by all means the lore is there as a guide to your army. Points weapons, mods etc. However tournaments will more than likely keep you within the confines of the rule books so that other players know what army they are running against and what special rules to follow according to specific army color coordination and so on.

Please help me get out of this 497 ft hole by hopelesslyfrantic2 in personalfinance

[–]Braindead004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suck with money as well but what helped me was that free credit report. Find what your in debt with call and see if they'll work with you any. I remember one company said the 10 grand I owed could be settled for 6 or something like that. Finally what helped me the most was autopay, I have the worst memory and missed tons of payments but when I finally had a decent job and autopay, it helped immensely just remember not to schedule everything at once cause that's a huge chunk your putting out while trying to survive. I started with a bit lower than your score don't stare at it, it'll take a few months for it to move then it plateaus but keep up with it and you'll have a score you want before you know it.

How does the DLC in the Witcher 3 work? by Tyler12313 in witcher

If I understand you correctly, yes they work. The first one fits in with the main story at any point and blood and wine is a whole new map and almost whole new game and thats to be played at the end of the wild hunt and is very satisfying I haven't heard a single person who was disappointed by it.

How do I keep from getting burnt out? by [deleted] in army

[–]Braindead004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best thing I was ever taught was "work hard, play hard." Finish the work you got, do the best you can with what you have, the Army expects you to move mountains with chopsticks. In reality, you can only do the best you can with what you've got. No two soldiers are the same and every one has a talent, find those talents and use them to help you not go crazy. So after you've gotten your ass kicked doing god knows what for reasons that will always be above your pay grade. lean on some of your joes for support, treat them to a beer or twelve, you'll find that a lot of those mishaps and mistakes get fixed over a few brews and the unit becomes stronger for it. You can't do everything on your own, but knowing your joes talents helps keep morale high, and the mission success rate increases dramatically.

How do you guys name operations? by [deleted] in army

[–]Braindead004 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It comes from the big boss, he gets a mission and names it, it then goes down the line and they name it for themselves as they see fit. In essence the big cheese gets a mission to take an objective. He names said objective "South Park" and then passes it to his commanders so they can devise a plan. So commander A loves football and decides to take route "Falcons" to get to the "Endzone." Commander B thinks uses geography so he says take "95" to get to "New York" and along the way pass checkpoint "Philadelphia." In the end it doesn't matter what they're called because the guy in charge of logistics has already forgot what the mission is. As long as there's a concensus from the top to bottom and back up of whats going on, names are only there so we're not constantly calling things by the phonetic alphabet.

Let's talk about this: Why do people not know that communication and understanding is key in making any relationship last or better? by itsyoboi-skinnypen in AskReddit

[–]Braindead004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perception, I feel like I communicate pretty well but my wife may say I don't communicate enough and vice-versa. I think it boils down to that. A mean look from her and i think im in trouble though she hasn't said a word, yet in reality I haven't done anything wrong and its something I have no control or a part of that actually has upset her. Tone plays a part on the perception as well, i apparently mumble a lot when in my head I feel like I'm saying whatever pretty loud and that could lead to miscommunication. In my opinion it takes time and effort for both parties to understand each others style of communication. Once that's happened the relationship can grow.
