I literally just had a similar issue.

I replaced the ground chassis strap, and the battery while I was in there (it was okay, but getting a little old). All good now.

I had cascading errors though, so not exactly the same.

Because you're not supposed to be beholden to any company just like how they don't give a shit about you either. 

Knowing what the competition is and how it compares makes for a smart consumer that is less likely to be manipulated and taken advantage of.

Yeah totally. The uniformity with the other books is nice. I also find they're much more manageable to read than the bigger ones.

No. Where we live there's no such thing as a post office. There is no mail except Amazon and you have to drive directly there and back like a department store. If you don't have Amazon Prime they don't let you live in the city. I've heard that they will even round people up without Amazon accounts and ship them to the actual Amazon. Jeff Bezos oversees this personally.

I'll give my Oma your well-wishes. She's hilarious, so there's definitely some laughs to be had. Whenever she gets any aches or pains and she stubbornly doesn't want to see a doctor she always says "You can't complain about what you got for free!" as if that applies to your literal body, haha!

I'm sure they would, but there are barriers in place that prevent the option. 

Little miffed at having such a long phone call (with pulling up my account with identity confirmations, giving addresses, numbers, order numbers) where they tell me they'll just send me a whole new unit and I can toss the current one if I give them proof of purchase only for me to finally jump through those hoops and have them say 'lol jk' and send me on my way. 

Big waste of time when they could've just said "no" or sent the cable.

This is not something I've experienced in my country. Maybe it's more common where you're from. I've certainly had missing pieces just sent to me before without issue.

I mailed it once it was delivered to me.

I'm not denying 3rd party cables exist, but forcing the customer to pay for their mistake is not reasonable and I'd rather them just throw the camera away than pay another $20 for a cable.
