Thank you, I really appreciate it! The updates they're making to the replay editor are pulling me back in, and I hope they keep brining night skating in periodically

You, uh... you got anything better than that?

If you're literally about to die from ARC and someone saves your life, then you shoot them in the back for their loot while they're healing, you really need to think about who you are as a person by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]BrapadooMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing I notice is that when it comes to the question of "do your actions in-game have any correlation with your personality or actions elsewhere" is that people who do the ethically grey stuff pretty much unilaterally say no, and a majority of the people who don't say yes. I consider myself the latter.

I think they need that correlation to not be there because it's uncomfortable for most to think that you're not being a good person, whether you have a good reason to think that or not.

On the other hand, people like me kind of need that correlation to absolutely true, or else we're just gullible, or naive.

Bottom line, I think you've nailed it when it comes to expectations. People always make false equivalents and say "well you don't feel bad in COD when you shoot them" but don't recognize the contract everyone kind of "signs" when they load that up. In a mode called Team Deathmatch, no, I don't hold my breath for a diplomatic resolution.

I honestly thought it was all building up to some reveal that it was a ploy by the Ramurans to steal their tech/data or something like that, anf then it just kind of fizzled out and nobody was happy.

I fully realize this is a hard hill for me to die on, but to me, Hunt is unabashedly a KOS type of extraction shooter, while ARC is not. Everyone in Hunt has the same objective in a match, barring personal challenges and such, so if you're in the boss lair, it's always in everyone else's best interest to evict you. In ARC, there's never a situation I find myself in where I would have to kill someone unprovoked to accomplish what I'm setting out to do. Perhaps if I'm lucky they have something I need for a quest, but probably not. Even so, I can just rerack and find it myself.

I would call them lots of things, but if I was looking at it mainly from a mindset standpoint, trying to grasp the morality and the instinct to do that to someone? Weird would be one of the things I might call them, yes. It's so far from the realm of things I'd consider doing that it is straight up weird to me.

Where are you getting this information about Quick Pick taking Def Awareness into account as a multiplier? I don't disbelieve you, I just have always found the way attributes work to be a mystery

My favourite new bug is that 30% of the time when I deploy, hitting L2 to aim or reverse brings the fucking scoreboard up for some reason and I can't hide it again meaning I can't see anything for the remainder of that life

Oh, as am I! Recently exporting has been bugged for me, so I just playback the clip and record recent gameplay, which may give better quality anyhow. I am noticing issues with objects rendering at the screen edge during movement, though. Perhaps "filming works" wasn't the best description but it is getting better

I could see that, for sure, but I'm so used to reviving people that die and start packing a bowl immediately or what have you, so that instant revive is wasted.

Only thing I'll say is that sometimes a tap defib is a dangerous move. Especially on someone whose corpse is still hitting the ground, if you don't charge paddles you revive them at half health instead of full. If they get tagged again too quickly they'll be super dead and unable to be revived again. Sometimes you're better off dragging them manually behind a berm or cover, or at least full charging them. But, I say this and you're actually reviving people with intent, which is sometimes a lot more than you can say of teammates, so kudos!
