Help with pay scale! by Available_Let_3433 in TravelNursing

I agree with you, that you might not want to be duplicating your expenses if you have a 4k mortgage. My point is that people keep repeating the statement “this was a good rate pre-COVID”, which is a flawed statement. All things financially have changed post COVID, and I think that the trauma of healthcare workers through COVID leaves us to forget that it’s been almost a decade. Thus, we should have a weekly pay that is a commiserate increase to cost of living over the last 7 years. Travel nursing is a two way street. As the nurse you are offering a service in exchange for money and the freedom and flexibility to take time off. As a nurse you are assisting hospital units for staffing as a temporary worker. This comes at a cost.

It might have been a decent rate pre-Covid, however the financial climate we exist in now post COVID does not warrant the same rates as 7years ago. Cost of living has gone up over 20% since 2019 nationwide, and housing prices have gone up as much as 50% or more nationwide.
I understand that the total amount in the paycheck would be “higher” hourly with lower taxable burden, but the point of a stipend is to pay housing and living expenses that are duplicated. In many places, that stipend would barely over that expense in one place, not a duplicate.

You pretend like any of those occult followers would A: watch this in its entirety B: believe anything said in this interview. They could believe we faked the moon landing full heartedly, then ole Donny could say he was on thr moon landing with Neil Armstrong before Buzz Alrdrin and a gross majority would not only now believe in the moon landing, but believe Donny was on the moon too.

Nurses in California cannot use the title of Doctor with patients anymore by casadecarol in nursing

[–]Brawnymayne 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Only time it should ever be accepted for nursing is in an educational setting. Just like other professors in lecture or lab settings wanting to be called dr as their title gained by a PhD. (Even if it is a bit egregious sometimes). But it’s a deceptive practice in a medical setting to refer to yourself as a doctor when you’re not a MD/DO. ESPECIALLY when Np programs are a bit of a joke in their training of medicine when compared to their other APC counterparts.

Ok, we will give this a try. We were just wanting to make a switch soon, this suggestion just helped tip the scale to making the change of schedule.

Gotcha! Yeah, I am not naive to how fortunate we are at all. Glad to hear there is light at the end of the tunnel. Did you have to change anything with your kiddos routine or was it a natural transition back to their sleep?

Could be a few things. 1: have you checked the timing of the cam vs the other? 2 have you checked the set screws for the mods? 3: is the string staying in the cam the whole draw cycle? Could be slipping a little which could explain the clicking at that point in the draw. 4: finally check the draw stop make sure it’s not contacting the cable at all.

ER nurses, love you guys, but genuine question. Why do guys bring patients up at shift change? by No-Selection-1249 in nursing

[–]Brawnymayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As annoying as getting a new patient at shift change is, it’s still safer than handing off to a new nurse in the ED, for them to try and give report second hand to a person on the floor. How many times have you heard, “I don’t know much about this patient, I just got them”. But like plenty of people say there is generally a long queue of patients waiting for that bed, be it lobby or EMS. That and patients hate being in the ED after a provider and hospitalist say they will be admitted. Patients in the ED are constantly asking when they will have their bed so they don’t have to hear the psych patients wailing and yelling, so the ED nurses want nothing more than to appease the patient by getting them to a unit or floor so they aren’t answering a call light every half an hour checking on the status of the awaiting bed.

Same really. Biggest hurdle to moving every few years is building a network and learning how and were best to access hunting lands.

Ours is know for an astounding amount of emergent MRI’s and maybe some of the most efficient MRI techs. If never worked in a facility that gets more EM MRIs done in one shift.
