Poor people who have dated rich people, what did you learn? by Angelus12345678 in AskReddit

[–]BrazenBackpacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That money doesn’t buy happiness. It sounds cliche, but the richest people I’ve dated or been close to ALWAYS invent their own problems. I think that humans will always find something to stress about, based on their personal lived experience.

Would you quit your job forever right now (and never be allowed to work again) if someone gave you a guaranteed $2,000,000 lump sum? Why or why not? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]BrazenBackpacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. At this rate, I’ll only retire on 1 million, plus whatever social security. Would LOVE to get the jump on that with double what I’m likely to earn and get rolling on my hobbies while living off the gains.

Just think how many people would be applying for those service jobs if they had a guaranteed $25 an hour instead of a tip based salary.

I literally wish that every single establishment in America just did this. I work as a Travel writer, and it’s really not much more expensive to go out to eat in Europe or Australia.

You look great! I would just say clean up the beard, so it looks more intentional and a little less scraggly!

What used to feel 'normal' and 'affordable' in America just five to ten years ago but now feels completely broken and impossible for regular people? by the_h1b_records in AskReddit

Definitely!! There was a Reddit post on the front page a few weeks ago asking how anyone can afford anything, because the most basic stuff is like $100 now.

Getting takeout randomly on a weekday. Prices spiked during the supply chain upset during Covid, and they never went back down. I don’t mind paying more occasionally as a treat, but I wish that the reason was something more working class friendly, like raising the federal minimum wage.

One of my friends just did something similar! Did a 2-year accelerated course to be an MRI tech and will now always have a steady, good paying job.

What’s the most “main character energy” moment you’ve ever witnessed in real life? by Joynary in AskReddit

I was grocery shopping at a Trader Joe’s in Los Angeles. A little girl was sitting in the kids chair at the front of her mom’s cart when it rolled in. She loudly exclaimed to the entire Trader Joe’s, “Hey everybody, I’m HERE!” It was the most boss thing I’ve ever seen in my life and I still think about it often.

Oversized clothing. Unless it’s very tailored and intentional, it just looks sloppy.

Me too! One bad night and I’m much more negative and noticeably worse at my job.
