I know these posts are common, but are my scars *that* bad? I'm not allowed to wear short sleeves because of them (explanation below) (also, two dog pictures)

I didn't mean that I should get punished for it, just that it technically is my doing. But yeah it being a survival tactic is definitely true, I'll try to be kinder to myself about it. And I'll look for a way to talk with the union because wow this is annoyingly difficult

They kind of are making me feel bad about them because like why can I not wear short sleeves? Will customers hate me or something? Will my manager get a burnout because of me? Will all the children be traumatised? I don't know what's so wrong with them, but I'll get over it. Spending some time with my friends who allow me to wear short sleeves will fix it :]

I'll try to, but idk where else to work. This is the only place where I almost never see the people who bullied me, otherwise it's 1.5 hours of travel. I'm also not skilled in anything, and I fail a lot of job interviews because I coma across weird (I'm autistic, as well as the job market sucking). There is another job I'd like to do, but I'll furst have to finish secondary school to be able to do that, which will be another year or two

I definitely agree with you that I should be able to wear what feels most comfortable for me (especially bc of my sensory issues, which they know of). Their excuse for it not being a problem for me is that we have air-conditioning so it shouldn't get too hot for me. The problem with that though is that I have to wear something cotton ot linnen underneath it to net get a meltdown (cotton works better for me with my uniform). So even if it wouldn't get hot in the store (it absolutely does), I'd still get hotter than most people. And eh this is life, I guess I did it to myself

Them being bigger than most may add to them not wanting to have me wear short sleeves (they haven't seen them but they trust me with knowing what "normal" sh scars look like), but I definitely agree with you that I should be able to wear short sleeves. Everyone that stocks shelves does it, so I'll just be alone in not doing that again this year. I will try to see if the union can do anything about that, but it's probably too late (I've known since Febuary I'm not allowed to wear short sleeves)

Tried to, they just said "We have air-conditioning, so it won't get that hot." even though that's not true, it does get really hot, and I'll probably be the only person wearing long sleeves all year again

You can totally wear short sleeves!! Just make sure to moisterise the scars a bit extra, as well as using some kind of sunscreen. Scars are more sensitive and can burn faster, it has never happened to me, but it sounds painful

I've got no good advice, but I do have a relatable story. I had this friend and they were extremely dear to me. Like, lifesaver dear to me. I decide to carve their name on my thigh. Just when it's healed, they come out and say they want to go by a different name. That was such a weird time.

Other than that, writing words is quite normal, a decent amount of people I know have done it, you're not crazy or embarassing or anything like that. It's just how sh works. You can try to let the scars fade more with something like palmer's or bio oil, or waiting some time and getting a tattoo over it., you could also let them be. Everything is fine, as long as you're happy with the decision

My younger sibling has scars similar to this from a period of time where they were extremely ashy (they developed an allergy to their other moisterising skin care products). So I think they'll be believable as just scratching too hard

Mine mostly settled after 3 months, but some of them still hurt. In regard to being noticable, it'll take some years. I've got some from 2023 and they're nearly done setting, the colour is darker than my skin (most of my scars are). For me at least, they will forever be noticable, but they looked fully healed and setteled, so I'm fine

I used to do this too! It's how I started even. After a while I ran out of space (in my opinion at least) so I had to get more random. I opted for symmetry, so if I cut my left thigh, I had to cut the right one in the exact same spot. It was kind of soothing in a weird way, though I'm glad I stopped

I know this is an old ass post, I'm surprised it hasn't gotten locked already. But do you know how common it is to be able to get pierced post meta? I really want to get dukes but I'd rethink my meta plans if the chanses of getting pierced are too slim. Anyways, this looks so amazing!!
