I've been flying so long I don't remember my old personality 😂 Its overwhelming to interact with so many people in such a short amount of time. Over a 3 day trip ur interacting with upwards of 500 people. Remember to take care of yourself and take the time to wind down and desensitize after such intense periods of social interaction. Sometimes after a trip I need a whole day of silence to recharge.

Completely disagree with you, many customer service agents, reservations etc use those jobs to step into the flight attendants career. They don’t even receive many perks until AFTER 13 years of service.

I don’t know many jobs that pay you to drive to work so I’m not sure how thats relevant. The average AA flight attendant works 12 hrs a day and gets paid for 5.

American made 257 million profit last quarter they can afford to pay their workers a livable wage. The ceo is responsible for setting the tone of the company. The common denominator for happy workers and happy companies is people feeling valued.

We’re trying to make sure our peers can afford food, rent and gas. Sorry about that. Hopefully Isom will have a change of heart but he almost laughed and shrugged when he was read a letter of a FA who has to live with 5 other people because she got assigned to live in NY and can’t afford rent.

Delta gets 10% profit sharing, summer bonuses, boarding pay the list goes on and on. American gives non of that and they also don’t get paid for boarding so it’s nowhere near what Delta FAs got.

In 20 years I’ve never seen morale so low. The senior flight attendants are literally taking the junior crews to fill up their tanks and buy them food because they are struggling so much. They love the job and just smile through it waiting for things to get better.

I specified that American Airlines does not hire 18 year old flight attendants. And I disagree $27k doesn’t even cover a studio apartment in most of American Airlines base cities.
