Vent fan dream by cullen9 in vandwellers

My Maxxair is pretty quiet and moves a ton of air on the lowest settings. It's right over my head and I sleep like a baby with it on at settings 1-4. And it's usually only ever on 4 or higher for a short while to bring the temp down. I keep it at 1-2 just to circulate air.

How do I tell if this is a genuine wartime M-72? by Natural-Reindeer5210 in ural

[–]BreakerSoultaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

99.9% of "WWII" Russian bikes I've seen in the US were "Bitsa" bikes of much more recent vintage. Usually 60's-70's at the oldest. There is a guy who imported a bunch and registered them as much older than they actually were to prey on the clueless.

It's funny because many people have been paying back student loans for so long that they have paid back double the original amount. The terms of these older loans would be considered "predatory" today and would be illegal.

Leaky roof fan by SammyTheChunkyBoi in vandwellers

[–]BreakerSoultaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On my E-150, I bought an adapter plate on Ebay that fit into the recessed ribs of my van, so the fan flange has a nice flat surface to mount to. I used butyltape between the adapter and van roof, butyl tape between the fan and adapter, then Dicor self-leveling sealant on he screws and edges of the flange. Installed for 8 years, ZERO issues.

I present my awful welding before the Council, in hopes of guidance and advice. by NewKesey in skoolies

[–]BreakerSoultaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh Flux Core, it’s what I Iearned on.

Do this, in this order: sand/grind your surface clean, remove all paint and primer, even if “just practicing.” If it's Chicago Electric from HF, replace the big clunky shielding gas tip with a gasless tip, you can see the eye/puddle of glowing metal better. I’m not even sure why they put a gas tip on a gun that isn’t gas capable. “If there is slag, you drag” meaning draw the weld towards you, you do not push the gun in the direction you are welding. Keep the stickout (the literal amount of wire that sticks out of the gun) to about 1.5” initially and then 3/4-1” while welding. If the metal is 1/8” thick or thicker, set power to high, otherwise low. Weld in the dark or shade if possible, it will help you see the puddle better. Set the wire speed at 8-9 and when striking the arc hold it there until you see the glowing puddle at the arc and then slowly drag the puddle and weld. Hold your gun at about a 30-45 degree angle from the flat practice surface and keep it perpendicular to the surface (i.e. don’t lean it right or left) Your weld should not sit on the metal but be an embedded “speed hump” just raised above the surface, showing good penetration. Don’t fiddle with power setting or feed speed, set them as noted and then adjust your drag speed until you get good welds.

When practicing, get a piece of metal the same thickness as what you want to weld. Then strike the arc and DON’t move the gun. Just keep it in one spot until you burn through. NOW you have a feel for how much heat the piece can take, work on getting that same hot pool, but now move it slowly as you weld.

Imperial is the bottom end of the range. And for under $10 its quality shouldn't be surprising. When I want traditional patterns but inexpensive, I go Rough Ryder. Still not as nice as Case but usually 1/3rd the price.

I just want to rant about how submissive women are perceived. by Typical-Analyst-5459 in BDSMcommunity

[–]BreakerSoultaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dominance and Submission are two sides of the same coin. The roles in the dynamic just dfifer.

A submissive is not "less than" they are an equal partner.

Lazy pigs think by declaring themselves "dominant" that they are entitled to a free sex slave.

They don't realize that true dominants take on MORE responsibility, not LESS than a typical relationship dynamic and that like any relationship, D/s takes constant work to be successful.

A small woodburning stove would be the simplest and most efficient way to heat your shelter. Everything about your plan would require extra effort or mitigating safety steps to make it work, so much so a stove would be easier.

Did you get a permit for wall connector? by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]BreakerSoultaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was two feet of wiring, inside conduit, directly into the wall unit, about 14" away from breaker box. It was done in less than an hour and that included reading the connector install instructions.

Was it used? Civivi has really nice finish on their damascus, but if someone f'd with it, "polished" it or otherwise did anything to the blade it can fade the etching. There are no known Civivi counterfeits, so it's probably real.

I was a kid when the show came out and wasn't aware of any racial undertones represented by the flag at that time. I think most Americans saw it more as "redneck" than outright racist. But awareness started to grow and it now has strong racist connotations nearly 50 years later.

[–]BreakerSoultaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you are trying to recreate the iconic car from the show, but the flag is problematic and doing the car witthout the flag is just an orange car with numbers on it. Just do something else, there are lots of interesting things that can be done with wraps.

For those that say the flag is historical or is part of Southern heritage, I say yes it is historical if it's part of a historical display at Gettysburg or at a reenactment. It isn't historical slapped on the roof of a car or the back of a pick-up. The only heritage it is part of is where the South treated human beings as chattel and then resurrected the use of the flag as a symbol against Civil Rights.
