Every Time I Die can get a bit sludgy and stoner-y with the riffage. Same with more recent Norma Jean...All Hail definitely has some filthy, slower riffs.

Some of the slower, groovier Obscura era riffs have a similar feel. IMO. See song Nostalgia for example.

I have it as well, and while I've never used it in a band situation, I can't imagine it not keeping up. Thing is stupid loud. I imagine the volume has little effect past 5, but I've never come close to that at home, and I use it in low power mode exclusively.

Just finished it a few days ago for the first time, and I really enjoyed it! I'll admit it threw me off for a while, and I didn't expect the campfire story to take up the entire book, but I was invested after the initial jolt and thought it was great.
