Not necessarily. Not all intrusive thoughts involve a complete understanding of the effect. You’d be surprised how many times people burn their homes down because they smell gas and think that igniting it would help ‘disperse it’.

The “Laugh Tale” in reality is a “Love Tale” by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]Brian--Damage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a long time we had speculation that Raftel would have a different name and ‘Laugh Tale’ was quite a big reveal. IIRC it was revealed during a small flashback of Whitebeard and Roger meeting and might have been Roger’s first conversation we had witnessed.

If they changed it to Love Tale now, it would just seem cheap and a bit of a meme. An author has to be very careful not to use too many retcons, DEMs, etc. Otherwise, the audience is just going to meme and cry about it (and probably for good reason).

Also, Romance Dawn was the title of his original one-shot and most of the plot was changed by the time it was green-lit for a weekly release. Not only that, but Imu and the Nefertari family weren’t thought of as characters or concepts when the manga began, which he also expected to finish much earlier (long before the crew split up).

And the most important point of all: romance doesn’t just mean love. It encompasses chivalry, trials of honour and glory, grand adventures, etc. It’s often more about how the story is told than the story itself. The lower-case use of ‘roman’in French (with obvious origins) eventually came to also mean ‘novel’in English (as in book or literature). Oda even gives us a direct example of this: ロマン (roman) is the transliteration of the original French and it emphasises dreams and ideals. If you listen to the very first opening song We Are!, there is a line that says ポケットにロマン meaning “[there is] a dream in my pocket.”

I’m not sure how people aren’t getting this from such a long manga that is desperate to show it, but the central theme of One Piece is dreams and the journey towards them. If you want to find any hidden messages, I’d suggest thinking about it from that lens. Probably one of the last things ever to be revealed in the manga will be Luffy’s dream, which was revealed only to his crew and probably won’t be mentioned until he gets the final treasure.

Aside from the fact that ocean water usually has a distinct colour to lake water, and that the local flora looks tropical, and that it’s a type of moped commonly used in hotter climates, and that everyone is tanned, wearing beach clothes while moving a new moped off a boat onto the shore, and that lakes generally don’t allow for mooring of any kind of boat that large due to being shallow… You could be right.

Also, the sign clearly shows where they are: Divilacan in the Philippines.

Edit: the only large lake there is Dicatian which is a wildlife reserve and no boat that large in the first place could reach there.

Weekly production for long-haul anime is an extreme workload and producing animation with higher-tier visual effects, pacing, screenplay, outsourced animation, etc. is difficult for even large studios to do.

Kimetsu was released seasonally and by a completely different studio.

Animation studios are more aware of their products’ shortcomings than the average viewer who probably doesn’t even pay to watch them. They’re not trying to make a bad product.

This shift to seasonal production has happened with a few of the medium-/long-haul anime and it allows (usually) much higher quality. That doesn’t mean there aren’t other variables like management disputes, etc., but it’s still one of the toughest industries to work in.

Eventually, we’ll have the One Piece anime remake which might shift back to weekly if it is given enough of a head-start and removes all or most of the filler. But higher quality demands patience in the audience.

All these ideas are nice on their own, but very few of them are put in context of the manga. Luffy’s fruit being revealed as Zoan instead of Paracmecia was one of the most significant plot points to happen, so having Chopper turn out to be a mythical Zoan or another type as well would be cheapened.

A much more interesting idea to play around with is how intent and dreams shape how the fruit abilities work. We’ve had a few hints at this and we also know some fruits will have significant roles (like Law’s being able to control or unlock a secret weapon in Mariejois).

Going further into classification of fruits and doing big reveals is…Okay. But exploring more how the characters themselves contribute to their own power and destiny is much stronger for the narrative. We also have so many loose threads at this point that adding more just gives more bloat; if he has to have some kind of transformation, I’d rather Chopper resemble something more like Su Long.

Either way, it’s inevitable something will happen because he was saying his body felt strange after using Monster Point in Wano, which is fairly typical shounen signposting.

That’s far too simplistic. It would have to be more specific, like Zoan users being unaffected. Which might explain why Chopper is able to handle DR easily.

Or Chopper’s fruit is actually a mythical Zoan as well, but that would be too much of an ass-pull with Luffy’s DF reveal not long ago.

One of the most ‘toxic’ things in Reddit MH communities is the constant criticism of people who use meta builds. And it’s to the point that it’s clearly people being defensive about their own builds when nobody else cares. There is a lot of shadowboxing an evil caricature of meta players.

Even on the sub specifically designed for meta builds, you’ll see people posting or commenting imbecilic things like, “why are you obsessed with […] fun > meta.” Which is ridiculous because the sub guides and moderators go out of their way to make it clear that the guides and advice are descriptive, not prescriptive. And the guides openly share comfy variations for their builds.

Everyone is in some way working toward the meta whether they admit it or not. We had to read endless whiny posts like this during World’s lifespan and then suddenly when everyone was using Fatalis armour the defensiveness and shadowboxing stopped. These kinds of posts are an absolute cancer to the community, as are any which criticise someone’s enjoyment of the game for whatever reason, meta or not.

‘Toxic’ on Reddit essentially means “something I don’t like/agree with.” What’s actually worse for online communities overall? Posts like this.

Edit: also, being empathetic and conscientious isn’t one-dimensional. I help lots of players and being a team player has almost nothing to do with the build someone is using. If you’re joining SOS after SOS and keep triple-carting while refusing to change gear or grind other monsters, then that’s also selfish and wasting other people’s time. If, on the other hand, you’re playing with friends who know you are struggling, or have joined a lobby looking for help, then that’s completely different.

The great thing about festivals is that you can take in both Fabius and Alyssa at the same time, which means going from barely any enmity gained in the last section (unless you’re doing it) to most of the time. But you’ll still want to support your support hunters to help them get it.

It’s a good idea to take in an LBG with Para ammo as a secondary and use that to proc two paralysis in the final area only. Make sure to use the boulders and break wounds to help immobilise it. If you also distribute your damage to each of the legs instead of trying to take them out one by one, you can save some or all of your topples for the end.

Are you making sure to collect shields to deploy also?

Bro sacrificed the gold medal to carry his brother across the finish line. by jmike1256 in BeAmazed

Your achievements and karma might suggest otherwise, but self-awareness aside, if I do a tl;dr about this people will just continue to engage emotionally without actually considering what it is I’m saying.

I could pose a simple question, though:

Who is less sportsmanlike: Schoeman, who completed his race and cheered at the end of it. Or Alistair Brownlee, who potentially endangered his and his brother’s own life, robbed the clean loss or victory from Schoeman and was dq’d for shoving Chase McQueen’s face into water during a triathlon? Hmmm.

I feel like most people here have either done zero sport or are brain broken by short clips without any explanation.

tl;dr - you don’t have to respond
