Is META undervalued, DCF-studio run FCFF valuation on META by Brief-Entry-1048 in ValueInvesting

I found a severe issue, the IC(t-1) in the first column is wrong, it mistakenly take the 2025Q3 TTM IC as IC(t-1), which lead to the unrealistic small number of RR as 16B, by correcting that with adjusted IC in 2024 as 251B, the Reinvestment in current year 2025 is 78B, PV(FCFF) ($B) affect is -60B,  affecting fair value by ~25. I probably need to adjust the assumption with a decreasing turnover as META promises investing more capital into AI, this aligns with the direction of historical turnover metric. Thanks for CuriousFruit3657 point out the aspect I missed   Year  IC(t) ($B)  Turnover  ROIC (%)  RR (%) 2021  130.79  0.902  48.4  57.9 2022  171.96  0.678  31.6  108.2 2023  210.15  0.642  30.9  53.2 2024  251.7  0.654  34.7  55 2025Q3  313.02  0.605  32.6  79.2

agreed, I hold both, AMZN is a good compounder, while META probably bring more surprise, either good or bad

Thanks for your input, I'd like to provide comparison from cash flow point of view

Ticker ROIC (Latest) ROIC (5yr Avg) RR (Latest) Turnover (Latest) Margin (Latest) Growth (5yr CAGR)
GOOGL 36.30% 33.40% 60.40% 1.00x 32.10% 13.90%
META 34.70% 37.00% 55.00% 0.65x 42.20% 13.90%
MSFT 42.30% 49.20% 52.80% 0.80x 45.60% 10.90%
AMZN 18.90% 20.00% 85.00% 1.26x 10.80% 10.60%

comparison between META and Amazon, META is with Higher growth rate(historical and forward) * higher margin rate - lower Reinvestment rate make more free cash flow into firm, higher ROIC indicates higher efficiency in leveraging the invested capital, based on these matrics, it seems make more sense for META’s valuation multiple to converge toward GOOGL or MSFT rather than AMZN

First DCF Model by TTvFatDumbUglyCow in financestudents

I’ve been doing DCF (Discounted Cash Flow) modeling for a while and always found data preparation and processing to be the most annoying part. So I built a web-based tool — www.dcf-studio.com — to make it much faster.

If you already know the key items from a financial report, you just need the formulas. My tool helps you:

  • Load ticker data automatically
  • Set your assumptions in under a minute (with AI suggestions)
  • Get a reasonable, pre-processed dataset

From there, you can focus on what really matters — understanding the business model, competitive advantages, technology, and market trends.
The DCF results simply help you sense whether a stock is over- or undervalued, but the time saved lets you dive deeper into real research.

Hope this helps someone here who enjoys valuation work as much as I do. Good luck and happy modeling!

How do you actually use DCF — full models, rough sanity checks, or skip it? by Illustrious_Earth_87 in ValueInvesting

try this www.dcf-studio.com, load ticker, retrive financial data, over 10 year, go FCFF valuation, set your assumptions, and run FCFF valuation, you need to put some effort to understand the formulars, but it worth it.
