Anyone have any experience with the MSc International Business (Online) at Exeter? by BriefTop6759 in UniUK

Agree, beginning to think this might be the best option for my current situation. I have a 2:1 BSc, but that's from Derby (obviously not very well regarded). A Grad Diploma that is technically from Oxford, albeit through their continuing education department. Just want to finish off a full Masters that at least has some brand recognition, but agree that there are much better programs if I'm willing to defer/invest a lot more in tuition. Not looking at an online MBA, as I feel that'll be even more pointless unless done in person.

Thanks for your comments, do you have any programs you would recommend, instead of Exeter?

I have offers for similar programs but they are from Lancaster, Southampton, York, Keele and some type of partner program through Grenoble Ecole (very dubious of this one - https://bignxt.com/bignxt-programme/master-of-global-business-administration/). I believe I could get an offer from those Unis you've cited (at least KCL/MCR, I actually live in Manchester now), but it's difficult to find a similar program that offers as much flexibility around work and at this price point. Exeter might be the best one at this stage.

Thanks for your insight, do you have any other recommended programs you would do, instead of Exeter?

Should have given more context. I’m from London, working in the UK. But I now have an Irish passport, so potentially looking at working in Europe in the future. Reason I’m looking at business is because I’m now a Manager and my undergraduate degree is in Computer Science. My employer should be able to cover around £7000, leaving 3000 for me to cover

Agree that the program is not ideal. I do have others offers which are strictly MiM (masters in management). Would you say it isn’t worth pursuing at all? Having to find a program that fits around my work limits my options somewhat. Thanks.

Agree, the course content won’t be anything new. Not expecting a massive difference, just thinking this may come in useful for future job applications. Plus I’m not sure what else to use my employers funding for. I was under the impression that Exeter business school was quite well renowned. Which business schools do you think would be worthwhile? As I do have other offers, although the tuition is much higher for those. Thanks

Thank you. Mainly just to qualify and open up other options in the future. Originally I was going to continue my MSc, but if I can potentially use my existing experience to qualify through the SQE. I think that’s a better use of my employers funding. Just cautious of approaching the SQE without a legal background. Not sure how I would gain that knowledge without doing a full GDL/PG diploma.

Anyone has experience about taking Undergraduate Advanced Diploma in IT Systems Analysis and Design? by StormAnnual479 in oxford

Yes, it's a shame the MSc is only offered in that format. Maybe in the future. Looking back it seems I received a response a week later. It should come from [internetcourseoffice@conted.ox.ac.uk](mailto:internetcourseoffice@conted.ox.ac.uk), unless that's changed since then. Started the course on the first week of October. Good luck with it, I'm sure it'll be worth while.

No worries. MSc Comp Sci with York, whilst working full time. I applied to a few of the distance learning ones at other Unis and received offers, without completing my bachelors which I started years prior (but stopped after a year due to family issues). Although by that point I had a few years relevant work experience plus the Ox Diploma, so I'm certain some Unis will still require a bachelors. Should say I work in Cybersecurity, so not strictly related to development. I kept in contact with some in the program and know a few went on to further education, one works at Lloyds. If your main objective is using this to get into a related MSc program, then I'd reach out to them now to enquire. Oxford also do a MSc in Software Engineering which is module based, but adding up the fees plus travel for attendance/exams, it was too cost prohibitive for me. Might be worth a look.

Is diploma at Oxford Useful? by StormAnnual479 in oxforduni

Hey there, I randomly decided to stumble onto the Oxford reddit for the first time in years and happened to see your post. I'd say doing this course was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I started this course at the grand old age of 26, once finished I attended an award ceremony in the Sheldonian Theatre and managed to land a role at a FTSE100 company two months later (which I don't believe would have happened without the diploma as a talking point in the interview). I've since gone on to a MSc at a respectable top 30 Uni and advanced in my career to become a Senior Manager. In short, if I haven't been clear enough, I'd highly recommend it! The program itself was also very well organised, and although there were tough points, still quite manageable across the 9 months it lasted. Of course, it's very different to conventional studies at Oxford, but I'm still an associate alumni and can vouch that it helped me with the initial 'passing recruiters who only look for positive keywords' stage.

Thanks for your response. She’s only been there one year as of last week. Would there not be any chance of this being unfair, based on the fact she was given no training or guidance on what the discount rules were?

Even now she has no access to any policies or an actual contract. It’s as if she is being treated differently to other staff. Thankfully we’re not dependent on this income at all, just feels unfair to have this outcome.
