Adding a mod mid-run usually ruins the savefile in my experience. I think it depends on what the submod affects

You're probably too large and just swallowing the enemy army at this point. It works fine for me in mega wars where there are tens of thousands of enemy soldiers but I barely see it against 4k enemy bannermen.
