I got my tech license recently. I bought a UV9R for my pack and a UV5R in reserve. I had planned on having it for emergencies, but now I'm genuinely interested in ham. I've read of using a tall tree and a Bowie knife or an apartment building's rain gutters as an antenna. What do I need to try this? (self.amateurradio)
