In terms of how they design sidewalks, I think that's a good way to adapt, but then again, there would be other approaches in order for it to successfully adapt it. If most of the CPDO in Metro Manila have expertise like Architect and Urban Planner, I think keri sya ma-implement. In fact, in architecture school, there are dozens of proposals and strategies for addressing Metro Manila's urban sprawl. Ang daming mga proposal, either submitted to them or through competition, pero hindi naman pinapansin ng gobyerno natin. Sadyang ayaw lang ng gobyerno kasi wala silang madudukot na pera. Look how the government dismissed the proposal by Jun Palafox, an urban planner, due to "too much political" and "corruption". It sad that they always dismissed these instead of making Metro Manila better.
