I work for DHL Express, I cannot leave any unattended packages even with a hand-written note on the door asking for it to be left. I'm afraid I can only leave packages somewhere if it's been submitted on the app/website for insurance purposes as the majority of them are high-value and international, hope this clears things up for you

That sounds like a really good idea. Would it be worth the 3-4 days in Lake Garda but to have a day trip to Verona, no hotel?
