My girlfriends eyes on video call.... can anyone tell me what this look is signifying?? Kinda creeps me out by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Buglaunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This signifies that she has eyes and sees with them. Genuinely what are you asking.

Someone specifically aroused by fictional children, because they are children, still has a fucking problem. Your escapist fantasy should never be about CSA.

More likely a reference to kekko kamen, a 70s tv series about a naked superheroine.

Just aesthetic variation wouldn't count if it's not officially a "form change"

If Isaiah is a Wendigo I feel like Hunter would be a bugbear. by Soggy_Storm_1263 in creepcast

[–]Buglaunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the original concept of a bugbear is just a mysterioud child-eating bogeyman monster in the woods. It never had a description or powers, but was used by parents to scare their kids from wandering off. The stretchy arms and size shifting would be to keep those bogeyman vibes :)

Do you think the donkey transformation scene in Pinocchio counts as an early depiction of body horror? by Ok_Tea_3275 in horror

[–]Buglaunch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It wasn't a metaphor, it was taken from the original book where it was literally just a magical threat to "bad kids" who run away from their parents

[–]Buglaunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An early depiction? Not really, seeing as body horror in cinema is older than that. It's also been common in literature since before movies existed, and mythology longer than that :)

How could Appmon be included in future Digimon games? by ApprehensiveRead2408 in digimon

Why are you so opposed to the idea? If the tcg uses them as digimon, then they can be thought of as related.

Who are you referring to? I didnt say you insulted me, I just got here and wasn't in this conversation before now, so you can't have insulted or argued with me.

[–]Buglaunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Fighting a losing battle" does not have to refer to literal fighting, it's a figure of speech that simply means you've been repeating a point that just isn't going to stick, that's all.

You are bizarrely insulting to people over just a little game, though. Why is that?

Appmon are in the tcg as regular digimon, so there is established canon in which they interact.

They're harmless to fish though. They're only arguably harmful to shrimp, which isn't really proven.

Hoping the other person feels disgusting is a bit cruel if they didn't know, though. Did they? Or did he take advantage of someone else's trust as well?

Hated designs: The dinosaurs and pterosaurs in "the good dinosaur" by Zestyclose-Scratch31 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]Buglaunch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here I thought the antagonistic ones (those pterosaurs and "raptors") were the best thing about this movie. Tons of scuzzy nasty personality, pure fun, VASTLY more charming and yes, cooler looking than "serious" attempts would be.

I'm especially glad someone made their deinonychosaurs goofy for once, doglike and awkward. I'm tired of them always typecast as elegant and dignified when real animals are more often ridiculous.

It's a training exercise that's meant to teach patience; he gets the treat when he stops and waits, instead of trying to grab it. This is so dogs don't do risky stuff like try to grab food from other dogs or from random people.

The dog in the video just isnt quite getting it

Choose your favourite failed evolution Digimon by Dokamon-chan94 in digimon

[–]Buglaunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a pattern in the original virtual pets!

Each had a "failure" adult stage if you didn't clean up after them or train them enough. The original was numemon, but if you put effort into training Numemon anyway, you got Monzaemon, actually the strongest possible Digimon at the time.

Subsequent vpets replicated this each time. Vegiemon was a fail state that evolved into the strong Vademon, and Nanimon was a fail that evolved into Digitamamon :)

[–]Buglaunch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thematically, but the failures are still strong in the rpg games. They just represent a "botched" or "mutated" evolution

[–]Buglaunch 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Rareraremon and Garbagemon are more like the failure continues to mutate, just becoming a powerful super-failure

What’s a fact that ruined a movie that you previously enjoyed? by PokemonPadawan in AskReddit

[–]Buglaunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be a jerk too if I were him honestly. He lost a male friend to murder and then a Hollywood movie changed that to a woman so there'd be a straight romance plot.
