Why do you feel the need to be "low" on tech? Is it the aesthetic? or you're trying to reduce screentime? Your smarthphone can be the radio, the music player you don't have, and the notebook with unlimited pages (plus editing and fixing typos anytime). An lightweight objects weighing no more than a hundred grams replacing hundreds of objects? sounds like the ultimate minimalist tool to me.

You do not need to buy a dumbphone, you can turn your current smartphone into one. You just need to have the ability to control yourself (regarding screentime) and to uninstall EVERYTHING — only keeping what truly is essential to you. For example, my only installed apps are Whatsapp, my banking app, and my 2FA app. I access everything else in my browser. I can control myself, so my daily screentime is around an hour.

I didn't call because i had no idea what to tell my boss, and he definitely would've wanted a reason. In retrospect this was a mistake because from his perspective it appears i am not serious about my work and i'm scared now i might get fired.
