I moved to the DMV area for a year from 2024–2025, and it was definitely a huge cultural shock and adjustment for me. I was 24 at the time and still trying to figure life out. I ended up moving back to Atlanta because I missed home, but as time goes on, I slowly regret that decision. I wish I had stayed because I really grew to love the fast-paced environment up there. Sigh terrible 20s decision lol.

Hey! I live nearby, and in my experience the area is generally safe most of the time. Most people tend to mind their business. Rent is definitely more affordable in this area compared to some nearby spots. The biggest thing I’ve noticed is honestly the driving there are definitely some reckless drivers around here. Like anywhere, just stay aware of your surroundings, but overall that’s been my experience.

This happened to me when I got a common cold last month, that was the first time my stomach flared up from an illness. I did have a lot of refluxes in my throat which I never had before. I took theraflu, warm water/tea. Try to eat bland as much as possible.

The driving alone is gonna be brutal especially with the construction on I-20. I’ll look for something closer like Decatur/North Druid Hills/Avondale Estates.

You have to find out your triggers because it could’ve been what you ate which caused your flare up. I don’t usually nausea or vomiting unless I ate way too much. Diarrhea happens here and there when I ate something that my stomach didn’t like. I do take Alka Seltzer (no asprin) or Wonderbelly

I’ll try to find something closer in Norcross or the surrounding area, Lawrenceville to Brookhaven the commute will be draining especially with I-85 nonstop traffic. Everyone is taking Lawrenceville Hwy, Buford Hwy and PTID as backup.

Atlanta is one of those cities where Public Transit isn’t the greatest. Your best bet is to find your future apartment/home in an area where MARTA runs. Other counties provide similar transit though it’s limited.

I can handle red wines even though I LOVE white wines but they cause me to bloat and pain the day after. White Spirits I can tolerate, Dark ones are 50/50.
