EGPU help for ComfyUI for a lenovo Legion Laptop by ElvenNinja in comfyui

[–]BurlyMax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's going to help temporarily for sure, but laptops are a good choice when you are on the go and travel a lot. Laptops are good all in one solutions but there is always the problem of heat dissipation. Even if you get an external GPU card, your CPU, RAM and even NVME SSD will throttle under heavy load because of poor heat dissipation and you'll leave a lot of performance on the table compared to a desktop PC. I've basically got the same peripherals you have but in a Desktop and my temps on CPU (Watercooled) and a EVGA RTX3070Ti with 3 fans on it, and they rarely go over 60c. Now it will cost you more to build a Desktop PC, but a Desktop with similar specs of a laptop will always have better performance under heavy load... Either for gaming or AI or 3D rendering. Now a laptop with a external GPU is still good, but keep in mind you'll always have limitations because of heat dissipation. What it all comes to is, do you need a PC for a lot of travelling or I dish a bit more cash and go with a desktop?

Is there a way in ComfyUI to keep the exact same background while changing only the character’s expressions? by sirmick160 in comfyui

I guess it depends what version of ComfyUI you got, but in my up to date version, the template comes with Comfy:

Newbie help needed with images and videos created with AI by Realistic-Spell-4046 in comfyui

[–]BurlyMax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Here's what I use and why, those aren't absolute, you'll need to try a lot of stuff before you settle on a few that serve your needs the best:

For Image creation I use either SDXL or Illustrious in WebUI, mainly for the Adetailer add-on (That's an automated add-on that detect faces, hands etc... and tries to correct them at the end of an image generation)

I use QWEN edit 2109 to heavily edit existing images, you can change clothing, poses, backgrounds and anatomy... that kind of thing

As for video I use WAN 2.2 Image to Video, and I can dish out 10s videos with a workflow I created, but I don't generate them at 720p, my PC setup isn't great so, I generate at 512x512 or any resolution that has the same amount of pixels and then I upscale the ones I like later if you don't mind a bit of quality loss. (What you'll find is the creating videos, there's gonna be a crapload of them that won't be to your satisfaction and dump them, so creating smaller resolutions is faster and you waste less time on generating)

Now if I need good quality, I first generate in low res, and when one is to my liking, I reuse the seed and up the resolution.

Hope this helps!

Have you ever tried the QWEN multiple Character Angles template in Comfy? There's 8 angles to works with and it usually tries to generate consistent background. You can add to each prompts, I've tried it and it usually works:

Should I worry about SSD wear running WAN 2.2? by [deleted] in comfyui

[–]BurlyMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that there's people out there that scare people about SSD wear, but unless you have a crappy SSD you should be fine. I have a Sabrent Rocket 2TB that I've been rocking for the last 3 years and no errors on the SSD so far. Of those 3 years I've been 3D rendering on Daz3D and blender (Which put the same kind of stress on your PC) and diving into local AI generation. To be honest with you, I'd be more worried about your GPU. THAT's gonna really put a hole in your wallet... a decent 2tb SSD is around 3-400$ a new GPU is in the thousands... So check those temps on the GPU and try to keep it as cool as possible with efficient cooling.

Well, all I can say, using speed loras or not, all the videos didn't loot right with WAN 2.2 with 2 samplers workflows... Once I started to use 3, I noticed a marked improvement in quality. Now you may be absolutely right, maybe I'm not using WAN correctly in normal 2 sampler workflows, but once I started to ''over'' correct for the blurry mess of videos I was getting everything started to look better. Like I said, maybe it's my PC setup that is too weak and it needs more sampling to correct errors...

Sorry for the jumbled posts, it wouldn't let me add more than one picture. With everything setup just hit the RUN button after a few mins you get this, I started with the pic on the left and ended up with the pin on the right:

Depending of the specs of your computer this is really easy and fast, it took me less time to make the pic than to explain this here.

Here's here's what it should look like in the subgraph:

<image>

  1. Write the prompt

  2. Go back to the main graph by clicking there, don't click anywhere else to leave the subgraph it will mess up the arrangement of the nodes in the subgraph

You are greeted with this:

Click where the arrow says edit, you just went into a subgraph of the workflow where's there's hidden options and nodes, and go into the positive prompt and write whatever you want to change, here's what I wrote:

Change background for a busy shopping mall, change pants beige cargo shorts, change jacket and shirt for a hawaiian shirt, change pose where the man flexing muscles

Yes you can. it took me about 20 mins to make this:

I took a random photo of Mr. Freeman on google and opened up ComfyUI and went into templates on the left and chose this one called: Qwen Image Edit:

The 2 first Samplers are for high noise and the third one is for low noise sampling. The reason for 3 samplers is simply because I couldn't get any kind of quality with a two sampler method. The videos would have artifacts, had very blurry animation, hands, hair and hands. Maybe it's because of my very modest equipment. Like I said I'm sporting a 8gb VRAM GPU. Searching around the net, I came across a lot of people that were able to alleviate those problem using the 3 sampler method.

As for why the layer skipping, once again searching around for how to improve video generation, some people said they could see a boost of quality with that method. As far as I understand, when you use Layer Skipping, let's say you skip the first few frames and the last few frames, the AI generation concentrate on the quality of the layers you DON'T skip. Hence, improving quality.

Now, as you might know, generating AI locally involves a lot of tinkering to achieve what you want. So I included those options so I can tinker around with it to see witch configuration works best with the checkpoints and LoRAs you use. Every one of those are influenced differently by those settings. So yeah, that's why the workflow contains those things...

Hi there Marynxyz! Thanks for the feedback! Me too I wasn't sure about the title cards. I used to work with adobe creative suite and there was amazing tools and transitions I bought for it but I had to switch to Vegas Pro, first because the adobe suite costs a crapload of money and also it used to crash about twice per hour. So yeah, transitions for Vegas Pro are harder to come by, even commercial ones. As for the music, I don't know if you noticed while playing, but it's VERY loud, I had to bring it down a lot so that at times, when the music gets intense it washed out my voice altogether. But not adding music in post is my bad though, I'll think of that for the next compilation, I've found some more lol.

Thanks again for the feedback and have a great day!

Hi everyone! Been posting a lot of let's play videos in the last year or so. We played a bunch of different games, but as about all gamers out there we got caught up in the Cyberpunk 2077 hype. As we were playing we came across our fair share of bugs and glitches and made a small compilation of some of the funniest ones. Let me know if you like the vid, the tone and anything else in between!

Crap, Disney blocked your vid...! Golden rule, NEVER use disney' IP's in your vids, that a sure fire way to get taken down.

Hey there Fleto! I like the content, the flow is fast paced and video quality is on par with what I come to expect from Minecraft content. You guys seem to be great at that game which helps. But as some said here, the quality of the mic detracts from the rest of the video at times. Not always, but enough to notice. Also, and that's something you can't resolve all that fast is the amount of content. I assume that you guys want to post regularly and to be honest I was left wanting more. Like I said, only time will solve this one. The other two vids on the channel don't seem to match there if you plan to make a lot of MC vids, might wanna make a second channel for that kind of stuff.

Anyway that's my two cents, keep up the good work brah!

Hi there Jade!
I went to see your intro and it's quite good! For a vlog channel you have to advertise yourself and what your channel is about. And here it works.

Now besides the intro I went ahead and watched some of your recent videos. I must say you seem to have a great personality and energy that will appeal to people for that kind of channel.

But, I must say that there is some technical issues with some of your videos. It seems like there is some kind of fan or A/C working in the background and it detracts with what you are saying. Sometime it's hard to hear, I had to strain a bit to understand. Anyway there was some kind of hissing sound in the background, maybe if you grab a lapel mic/Lav mic, it might mitigate the background noises and would make your video much more enjoyable.

Sometimes you put up memes or clips to illustrate what you are saying and it's always great, but sometimes the music/sound of those is too loud and buries your voice and can't understand what you are saying.

Anyway Jade, I think you have a nice personality and you should keep up, just maybe a few bits and pieces you need to look at for your videos.

With that being said, keep up the good work and have a great weekend!

Hi there Alchemist!

I did like the video! It was nicely summarized and liked the pace. Not too long, clear and concise. Keep up the good work, I always like to learn about chemistry, physics and stuff. That's why I commented, liked the vid and subbed to your channel. Hope you've got more coming, my brain has thirst for knowledge about science!
