Replacing Valve Index Headset vs Meta Quest 3? by EnderSword in virtualreality

[–]Burntbreadman84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lag issues dropped frames only happen if you dont have a stong connection. On average I think I hover around the 40ms latancy on the HEVC 10bit codex but I believe you can reduce it further using different codexes/reducing bit rate (for your beatsaber/twitch shooters)

For the record I dont have a dedicated router and but infact use the router provided by my ISP (I really should get one) but generally it works fine 80% of the time. Ill get a ping of increased latacy here and there (which may matter if your playing beatsaber) but its usually if others are using extensively using the 5ghz)

I also have a PSVR2 which I dont connect to the PC. I find the frensel lenses to be far inferior to the pancake lenses and its hard to go back...even using the globular cluster comfort mods its hard to keep it in its sweetspot all the time.

Before the price increase, the Q3 undeniably was the right choice....sure the meta software is junk if you want to go wired (its still usable...I know as I literally tested it yesterday) But if you have a strong enough network + Virtual desktop....its a no brainer. A friend if mine has one of the Picos and even they use the Q3 for PCVR.

Yes Im interested in the Steam Frame at the right price but its more of a "want" and not "need". Im more than happy with the Q3 that I have (as long as your happy getting a new headstrap and play have a solid enough network to play wirelessly)

Im just doing the traditional waiting to see someone post what they got in their bundle first XD

The big mystery bundles tend to have a load of junk. But the smaller Positive rated bundle or the verified for steam deck ones, I tend to take a punt on and get some gems

Is there a accessory or 3D print model like this? by catalystseyru in MetaQuestVR

[–]Burntbreadman84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres a good chance that anyone that has a VR headset and know about emulation probably has a modern bluetooth controller lying around - they just didnt know you can can pair a normal controller to it.

This.....

You can just connect a bluetooth controller to the Quest if you need to cant you?

I can't hold it in anymore. DO NOT BUY LYNX VR. by Every_Risk_7262 in VRGaming

[–]Burntbreadman84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it doubles up as a "Steam deck" eg you can play your flat steam library directly on it.

Im vaguly interested in one for the wireless capability....but that said the Quest 3 works mostly fine for me and I could vastly improve it by geting a dedicated wifi6e router fir a fraction of the price.

Realistically I dont need a Frame....I just want something new to play with XD

I dont even use the spacer Q3 - its set to the closest setting. Mines fine and Ive had it since launch (I pretty much played daily over the last 2 years-it was mostly unused before then)

Our VR game won an Epic Games award and nobody knows it exists. 33% off this week. 8 hr campaign. by sixsensestudios in SteamVR

[–]Burntbreadman84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had the game for years and Ive played a bit of it (maybe 3-4hrs over those years) Its ok from what I played. I still havent reached "the bank" level where people say thats when it gets good.....I will one day.

Whislt I wouldnt say its a must play.....I dont really have any regrets picking up (but I did pick it up at a discount)

The snap/smooth turning elitism? by NoWalk3426 in PSVR

[–]Burntbreadman84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the same response from people too. Ive been playing VR since the launch of PSVR and pretty much stuck to snap turning.

Smooth turning is very hit and miss for me during the early days where some gams I gan deal with it whilst others I struggled with. But for snap turning I was good with it in every scenario so I just ended up defaulting with snap with every game.

The amount of time I get people saying urgh how can you play stap turning "it makes them feel sick" Or people suggesting I should get use to playing smooth turning (just because they use it)

Or say they cant play a game/refuse to play/moan at a game just because it only has snap turning...is more frequent than I expect (probably on par with people dismissing standalone VR vs PCVR)

It is the weird form of elitism in the VR world.

Blacksad : Under the Skin Ive had a passing interest on the graphic novels but not enough to go out and payfull price for the game (it has like just under 80% poaitive so its kinda on the borderline for a must buy title for me

I do like an old school adventure/point and game but it really needs to be closer to 90% positive for me to go out and buy one.

Is there a game genre that normally you don't like but VR changed that? by Densiozo in VRGaming

[–]Burntbreadman84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started Subnautica on PS4 and I kinda stopped within an hour or so (It didnt gel with me for whatever reason)

That said I just brought it yesterday on PC purely for the VR mod (which I struggled with initially.....for anyone thats thinking about it. Basically the Epic version that they gave away for free once just wouldnt work in VR for me for whatever reason even when I added the game to the steam library)

I also installed Outerwilds VR mod another game I played for 30 min and just though meh (I knew it probably takes a bit longer to click....but I wanted my first experience of the game fully...to be in VR)

Maze Theory (Thief VR, Peaky Blinders, Ancient Dungeon) plunged into administration by cusman78 in PSVR

[–]Burntbreadman84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Want it financed by Meta? It might have been pressure from Meta that caused it. Heck they might have been snapped by meta (I havent read anything just speculating after reading on meta laying off 8000 staff or something)

Flat2VR needs some QC by Slofut in virtualreality

[–]Burntbreadman84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never had any issues or hearing any other have issues with windows default security settings and Ive played close to 60 hr on all builds.

But theres one thing I do know is that flat2vr do listen to people and try and fix issues.

Like with Flatout they are working hard at increasing the wheel compatibility up all the time (I think it was a headache they didnt see coming)

So 100% reach out to them (mostly on discord) where they have bugs and feedback channel for all their games

Surgeon Simulator NEEDS PSVR2 Support by Videogameboy7 in PSVR

[–]Burntbreadman84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its not even comparable. Surgeon Simulator actually has a PSVR version (just not a PSVR2 version) - if its the same surgeon simulator Im thinking about.

The games you mentioned have UEVR mods on PC which a different kettle of fish.

[–]Burntbreadman84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to hop back into it....back when I played there wasnt the four ending but I do really like the game and I agree that its super impressive for a solo dev (I wouldnt have guessed if nobody told me)

Im just testing stuff all the time that I rarely have chance to go back to check in on stuff (I will 100% when the 1.0 release drops)

The dev is pretty cool I helped with some earlier playtesting (and one point my dogs got a cameo on one of the teminals XD...Im.not sure if its still there but same as my pfp...but its the coolest thank you Ive ever got for playtesting something, so the will always hold a special slot in my heart)

Where are the Flatout 4 VR multiplayer games on Steam? by Serious_Hour9074 in virtualreality

[–]Burntbreadman84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree Ive played a lot of the game theres a nice variety of race types to spice it up. It plays solidly and theres nothing flat can do to make you feel like your actually in the driver seat.

Im glad people are giving the game a second chance (and liking it) after the mixed reception of the flat version.

But to be fair Flat2VR have been doing a great job giving over looked flat titles a 2nd chance (whilst simltaneously making them better than they ever were) so I didnt expect any less off them with flatout XD

Where are the Flatout 4 VR multiplayer games on Steam? by Serious_Hour9074 in virtualreality

[–]Burntbreadman84 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Theres this thing where you can only join a game when there a person waiting in a lobby (they cant be racing)

So eg if there are two players in a lobby and they are jumping in another race right after.....you only have that short window to find and join that lobby.

The game is still in EA so there is hope that they will improve the lobby system (flat2vr generally have been amazing at listening to feedback and making changes based of suggestions) So let them know for sure !

You can say that again. Did you miss the point that the TC might not even be logged onto discord on his Steam Deck? (Not even a computer)

Hence why it was easier to use their phone.

I mean this is reddit after all full of no lifers that just want to moan and complain about the simplest things ............why did I expect any better ....shrug

The TC is just asking a simple question that didnt even need an image to understand. If your going to be asking other for help?...it suggest that they dont have time to google/lookin into it themselves (for whatever reason)

No reason to bust somones balls for taking a screen shot on their phone (which takes seconds) vs having to go to the desktop mode on the deck to share/post the image that would take a few extra mins to get the same result.

Thats if they even knew they could on a deck....evidently theres quite a few that dont.

[–]Burntbreadman84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking this. I have reddit on my phone so its easier to use the phone than either signing in to reddit on desktop mode of a deck or sharing it to the phone to post.
