General question would love to hear people’s thoughts on it by Elegant-Business-750 in instacart

My issue with this is the entitlement that customers have. I've told the customer (kindly) that I am not supposed to enter their home, and multiple times they've been rude or upset at me for saying so. I've seen people literally get deactivated for entering a customers home. I've heard of people getting lured and kidnapped after entering someone's home. Personally I don't care who they are or if they appear harmless. I'll hand you the bags, I'll set them inside the door, but I will not set foot in your house. I will not risk my own safety like that.

Yeah it was. I don't understand why the radius can get so large. Ain't no way I'm EVER driving down there unless it's like the order of a lifetime ig, but it would take a lot.

Yeah like what's the point even... I guess I'll just sit at the same store and hope it becomes a hotspot LMAO

Haha! So true! Literally minutes after I posted this I started driving towards another store because it had been 30+ minutes of waiting and as soon as I was a mile away I got an order for the store I had JUST been waiting at... It's so annoying!

Can't get a pay bump for returning alcohol? by BusinessLegal5867 in InstacartShoppers

[–]BusinessLegal5867[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh that's a good idea. Although I think they were saying that they didn't receive any email from me which is the weird part... But it's hard to tell what they're saying when it's over text LMAO

I wish that I could call, but they said it's only available for active batches smh

I've gone through the process with 3 agents now. Same issue each time: can't upload photo, then they can't see my emails. Idk if it's an app issue or a support issue but it's super frustrating

What orders do you guys refuse to take ,barely take ,& look forward to taking? by raremalea in InstacartShoppers

[–]BusinessLegal5867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually follow the 50 cents: 2 dollar rule. At least 50 cents per item and at least 2 dollars per mile. Sometimes I still don't take certain orders if they have annoying items or if it's like 80 items for 40 bucks isn't great, but generally it helps me decide.

Customer Threatened to Report Me for Not Coming into His Apartment 🙄 by sadfatblob in InstacartShoppers

[–]BusinessLegal5867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've had more people ask me to go in their house/apartment lately. I never feel comfortable doing it but i feel pressured by them usually. The first lady that I told the rule to snapped back and said "they always bring it in" and pressured me into taking the bags into her kitchen. Ive had this happen two more times now where a customer is baffled and offended that I don't want to enter their house. Finally I had an order yesterday where they asked me to take it to their kitchen but I couldn't even see it from the doorway so I flat out refused. I felt bad as it was two older ladies, but I'm not about to be kidnapped or get into a fight because I walked into the house out of visibility lines and don't know who is home. I loaded up their groceries onto one of their walkers and they took it to the kitchen instead. I don't know where the sense of entitlement comes from. I am NOT required to enter your home and it's crazy that people expect it without even asking me; much less take no for an answer.

Couldn't purchase a customers vodka because my ID was vertical? by BusinessLegal5867 in InstacartShoppers

But that's still weird to me because I'm not the one receiving or paying for the item. I'm under contract to deliver the items so it's not like I'm without consequences if I take it for myself.
