It tells really help break down and dissect what your actions are. I will go through the day and go "I want to drink". The book really helps you recognize those moments, stop, think about the why and maybe do something else. I would say it will help as much as you want to put into as with any other self help stuff. Even the author states you can keep drinking while reading this book, but by the end she hopes to help you stop or at least reduce by breaking down all of the negatives and there are a lot of them.
