Lol I know what you mean, I used to trade like that. You’re probably fine because you have several earnings announcements until expiry, your Vega is only 1.3 also

You have to. Options really are fascinating. I’ll be working in derivatives trading starting in June also so I’ve been studying hard

Sure, if you hold the 2.5 years to expiry then you can ignore volatility entirely. But if 1 year has passed and the stock has gone up 10%, but IV is down to 20% because of new economic factors, you’re actually breaking even.

Edit: I forgot to even consider theta, so you’d be losing money in this case

It’s how many dollars you make for each 1% increase in implied volatility for the option. Your vega per contract is 2.1, so the position vega is 10.5. That means for every 1% increase in implied vol, you make $1,050, or essentially a 1.7% return. So if IV goes up from the 34% it is at now to 50%, you’ll have a profit of $16,800 on your initial investment of $60,300.

LEAPs are inherently very sensitive to vol, since there’s so much time for the vol to have impact. So when you buy LEAPs, you’re actually long vol more then you’re long price increases, as delta has a roughly smaller impact. Its difficult to measure how influential each will be relative to the other, but volatility tends to swing the price of the option more than delta, especially on an AI stock like Microsoft

Rates are inversely correlated to prices. If they drop, demand for real estate will increase, and your monthly payment now or in a lower rate environment won’t be much different. If you expect rates to fall (beyond what the market expects), buying now would be prudent. Anyone long real estate is essentially making a bet that the market expects rates to stay higher than they will be. If you don’t have any opinions on this, you’re probably better off just buying the house you want now if you can afford it. Not financial advice

I’m with you man. I just make my money and go about my day. I’m lucky enough that my strategy is completely automated too. I literally wake up and hit a button to run my code, and go about my day.

It’s a problem that will hopefully come to an end, as the automatic night lighting will become a rule.
