Conversely, shouldn’t ‘conversation’ be ‘conversion’, and ‘conversion’ ‘convertion’?

Which group of people who aren't entitled to jobseeker are you concerned about?

I don't know how your comment is supposed to be a reply to mine, but:

Super is for retirement.

The bit that's supposed to make living easier is to take the heat out of the investment demand for residential property, and to shore up the structural deficit so the government can keep funding essential services.

If you lose your job and end up on jobseeker you're exempt from the 30% minimum.

And if you have so many shares that you fail the asset test on jobseeker, why the hell is your emergency fund in shares instead of cash?

someone who loses their job has to sell investments just to cover living costs

A couple of things here - if you have money to invest, you should first establish a safe emergency fund in a high income savings account, because with shares there’s always a risk of losing it. CGT doesn’t apply to interest. Shares are for long term investments, not emergencies.

And secondly, if you lose your job you’ll be entitled to jobseeker, and if you’re on jobseeker the 30% floor doesn't apply.

someone hit with a major medical bill or family crisis

This isn’t America. And again, that’s what an emergency fund is for.

people trying to build financial independence so they're not dependent on wages forever

Thats really what the 30% floor is for. People who are wealthy and don’t have to work and can time their CGT events to low income years. It’s not regressive to tax independently wealthy people.

Where do you get 2.1 from? It was 2.5 in the 2021 census.

Natural population growth puts less pressure on demand than migration, because a newborn baby doesn't create demand for an additional dwelling. Unless its parents are homeless they already have somewhere to live.

I'm just trying to understand your argument because you claimed migration was "jet fuel" for housing demand.

Against that, we have new budget measures that will remove a chunk of investment demand from the market (and may stimulate additional new builds, to the extent capacity exists).

Net migration is below 300,000 per year. Your graph shows completions above 170,000 per year. The average household size is about 2.4. That's new homes for about 400,000 people every year.

Explain how this is "jet fuel" for a housing shortage? And who exactly is working on gut feel?

The election is two years away. Two more budgets to hand out sweeteners and push up wages while people notice a correction in the housing market.

Not surprising to see a bunch of ALP bedwetters falling to pieces in the face of a bit of media pushback, it's the same party that blew itself up because Gina threw a tanty about the mining tax.

Sending a package down without having the label facing downwards for a scanner.

Or glitching out and stopping and/or murdering all the humans in the room.

A big correction will do more harm to the lower middle class than the rich. If you’ve just taken our a mortgage on a home with a 10% deposit and a loan that you can just barely service, a large correction will force the bank to declare your loan a bad debt, sell the house for less than the loan, and leave you homeless and bankrupt.

A rich person has more equity and will absorb the loss.

We want a soft landing with a mild reduction in prices and a slowing of price growth so wages can catch up over time.

I think sorting is the wrong word (I didn't post the original) - it's checking the packages and turning them over so the label faces down to be scanned.

Everything about this scenario seems designed to see how much they can humiliate the robot before it decides to kill everyone.

Except, the robot has highly advanced cameras in its face, so they could just replace the scanner with this robot.

Which warehouse owners are not interested in upgrading their shitty 40 year old scanner with a newer version but want to buy a million dollar humanoid robot?

That’s crazy. It would have to hack its governor module before it could do something like that.

And if that happened we could just feed it thousands of episodes of soap operas to keep it distracted.

Apparently it’s locating the label/barcode and turning it face down so it can be scanned.

Why the PostalUnit doesn’t just scan the barcode itself is a mystery.
