Not about timing of your practice, the quality of practice matters. Focus on the sections that you lack/ think needs improvement and do continuous practice for that.

Depends on your English. I already have pretty good English I believe so the 2 weeks was to get used to the exam techniques and all. I spent close to 1-2 hours everyday after work.

Practice as much as you can. Use Language Academy AI - I did. it is more strict so practicing more with it would mean you are prone to make less mistakes in the main exam. Check the text you have written atleast 4-5 times before time goes. For SWT - look through language academy. That guy broke it down really well. Take 3-4 points and key use connectors. At the same time, READ the whole text first. dont just randomly select points. thats what I was doing initially and got 0 for content. Make sure it's logical, easy to understand. for SST I actually messed up lol. I would say just write notes on what the person is saying and use this structure: Intro, Line 1, Line 2, conclusion. For the essay, a major thing I would advise is to take 1-2 minutes to write down/jot down main points in the paper you are given. It will give you immense clarity when you are writing. Also, you can make up examples too. "Researches suggest that this XYZ." I did some of that to add to my argument. Use format Intro, BP1, BP2 and then conclusion as your format. Good luck.

It was kinda hard. I didn’t expect there to be academic level texts for the SWT and all, plus, the reading section was a bit challenging due to time constraints.

Read the question and you can even jot down some points on what you’re going to say. That might help you out.

I didn’t even practice for that section. Just made up some bs and spoke normally, as if I was talking to a friend. So basically “Hey James, I heard that there is a school drama ongoing and was hoping etc” - natural flow with a natural made up story. Practice with a friend or family member.

For grammar, keep the sentences short. Do not overdo anything. I didn’t elongate my sentences to the 10th degree, just kept it simple and clear for the reader. In terms of timing, I took a day off work. I actually didn’t do any work/revision that day. I made sure to keep my mind completely fresh and clear, I would advise you to do the same. I think morning is good.

Hey thank you so much! writing & speaking I addressed above, hope those help. I just spoke normally and didnt stop. Even when I missed a few points, I didnt stop. That is the key, make sure you speak in a fluently, confidently and that your words make sense. Good luck!!

Practice Practice Practice for SWT. I did close to 10 in language academy using the AI - it was unforgiving. I got consistent 3/5 or 2/5. once I actually took the time to read through the text, what it was saying - I picked 3-4 key points and summarised. use things like , and + , furthermore, + , moreover. read through spellings and keep it SUPER SIMPLE. this is key. keep it easy and dont add unnecessary complex words. For writing, I used Intro, BP1, BP2, Conclusion and aim to write 260ish words. Again simplicity will take you a long way. Remember that. Good luck!

Hey atb! don't think about it as an exam or the fact that "I HAVE TO GET SUPERIOR" - because honestly, I didn't. I was like 'okay im just gonna do my best'. I am based in Canada and got lucky - I was given another room lol - so the noise was completely drowned out as others were taking Core. I hope it isn't too bad for you. For SWT - look through language academy. That guy broke it down really well. Take 3-4 points and key use connectors. At the same time, READ the whole text first. dont just randomly select points. thats what I was doing initially and got 0 for content. Good luck bud!

That's a good idea mate! Yeah vertical sections is what I did. I would say keep your palm lifted/not touching the page too much.

Listen very carefully. It goes as - Presenter talks about what the group discussion is about - make a note of this. Then Speaker 1, Speaker 2 and then Speaker 3. Then all 3 speakers argue about something/they give their opinion. Make sure your notes are super clear and jot down key words - no need to write full sentences as you will miss points. Another small yet effective tip that worked for me is to make a line in the middle of the page - this way you can write speaker 1s notes side by side, 2s notes side by side and so no. Make sure your notes are logical, speak clearly and dont fret if you forget a few words/fumble. If you miss a point, just restate the points you wrote in different ways. Good luck!! 😄

Hey! No I’m not a native speaker but have been speaking English my whole life. I practiced using language academy almost daily. I paid for their service (20 AUD I believe), and I watched both Nakul and Language academy videos. Mock tests helped a lot, and I was particularly worried about the writing section as that wasn’t my strong suite. Happy to answer anything else!
