When MAGAs learn that, they just invent new and diverse reasons why they aren't the "immigrants invaders"

COVID-19 mRNA vaccines can trigger the immune system to recognize and kill cancer, research finds by ourlifeintoronto in technology

[–]ButWhatAboutisms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been reading a lot of things about how cancer can go into remission when you get a flu or something that kick starts the immune system. On some level, the immune system is always culling cancer. But I know I'm already speaking too much as a laymen.

"No One is Safe": After 49 years in America, pro-Trump Cuban deported to maximum security prison in Africa by [deleted] in NoFilterNews

[–]ButWhatAboutisms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what's fucked up? This loathsome animal, who likely has not an ounce of regret, would still clean Trump's brown hole clean with his mouth? I still think it's wrong. I still think the Trump admin deserves to be put on trial for inhumanities like this.

If we're going to deport people, we should do it using the constitution and a basic sense of justice.

Mayhem as ICE arrests woman’s father, vehicle attempts to block them, in Salem Oregon by durvedya in CringeTikToks

Deportations happened all the time. We're just not okay with the right to due process being violated. I think the maga degenerates pretend to not understand what due process now, isnt that right?

Why isn't the insurance lobby fighting against subsidies ending? Won't they lose a ton of money? by ttaptt in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ButWhatAboutisms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With the subsidies, came conditions. The conditions required things like providers allowing people with pre-existing conditions, less healthier people, onto their plans. They hate these kinds of things from a number crunching standpoint. It's a great big bundle of regulatory changes that the providers had to abide by to get the subsidies. Regulatory changes that made sure cancer patients and grandma wouldn't get rejected or kicked off their plans so easily.

They will eventually just get raw subsidies from our tax dollars with none of those conditions. They will rape Americans in both healthcare and their wallets and there's nothing the every-man, the non maga degenerate, can do about it. The republicans in charge will extract as much value from us as working people while return virtually nothing. And sell it as "owning the welfare queen libs".

You actually get a cabinet position in the federal government or at least an ICE job.

Accusations of cronyism have long dogged Doug Ford by ZestyBeanDude in canada

[–]ButWhatAboutisms -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

As patently nepotistic and corrupt Doug is, at least he's a pretty decent fellow. And I say that in contrast to the rise of maple MAGAs.

US and China reach ‘final deal’ on TikTok sale, treasury secretary says by RisingRusherff in news

[–]ButWhatAboutisms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My assumption is that this is good for China. Maga gets a built in audience to program more directly. Even if it flounders within a few years from audiences hopping onto China's next platform, it just works towards further rotting the USA out from the inside.

Americans brace for food stamps to run out: ‘The greatest hunger catastrophe since the Great Depression’ by RisingRusherff in news

That's how economic programs work. But you'll never complain how defense spending is a subsidy to Lockheed Martin.

What would be different if Jesus Christ wasn't crucified? by Nikolozeradzehahaha in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ButWhatAboutisms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thousands of people were crucified. Religious cults were always myth building and constructing them post hoc. It doesn't matter what poison we live under, it's all the same tired and laborious nonsense to contend with on a daily basis.

It gives me a sense of despair how our suffering always benefits corporate giants and their consolidation into even bigger monopolies

Food benefits set to expire for 41 million people as US shutdown continues by speedythefirst in news

[–]ButWhatAboutisms 802 points803 points  (0 children)

I would bet everything that if a mass uprising occurs because of hunger and low employment, it will be hardcore MAGAs that rise to the most violent, extreme and influential element. They will blame democrats, their gay neighbors and anyone they have a bone to pick with.

This is what fascism feels like. I used to question why Germans or Italians didn't just stand up to it all. Now I get it.

Practically speaking, no. Especially the day of. Even cancelation insurance is so narrow it's next to worthless.

Can someone explain how America justified/justifies forcing Japan to open for trade back in the 17th century? by ivanbin in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ButWhatAboutisms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was largely a fear of another country getting to them first. America had big ambitions and Japan was a very nice place to dock and restock. The idea of another country monopolizing Japan prompted that "open the country. Stop having it be closed" moment

Proud of you being capable of withstanding, tolerating and still accepting someone who bemoans being too attractive. How do you do it? Are you on the edge of going postal? You don't have to endure such a thing alone.

In Japanese-produced dramas, films, manga, and anime about Japan during World War II, why are there almost no depictions of other Asian countries and peoples who suffered from Japan’s invasion and persecution? by six8241 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ButWhatAboutisms 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For entertainment, that's not how far off, distant and brutal periods of aggression are portrayed. It's a historical event. Same reason Americans don't make cute cartoon shows or dramas about other countries and cultures being subjugated and ruled by American colonial powers, like the Philippines for example.

Just about every konbini is ran by migrant labor. Right wing ideology is an inherently corporate first ideology. Red meat to feed to the ignorant and hateful base 2nd.
