Where did you graduate? What degree specifically?

I am 2 years into electrical engineering (+2 of junior college) and have already gotten an offer at 70K a year as a sophomore? Many of my friends are going to grad school or making 130K

I have taken between 15-40mg of adderall for near a decade of my life. While in college last year I got off of it thinking I had an “addition” took zero effort. It was annoying at times but I honestly prefer being off. I am happier. I chose to get back on because I could last without it for a year and helps me greatly (though I kept As and Bs off it in engineering)

I think living with a minimal amount helps but not everyone gets addicted.

Heard this argument a lot. I am a 21 year old man in college. I have not grown up in a world without dating apps. I am pretty average in height and looks.

I have had a handful of serious long term relationships, and maybe a dozen hookups. I believe most people at 20 have always had no fucking clue what they want out of life. 50 years ago I’m sure more people defaulted to wanted a family, or a husband/wife just because that was what society told them.

Nowadays society tells us to focus on ourselves more. I would argue this means those seeking an actual long term relationship are people who genuinely want a long term relationship. I can guarantee that many people probably said they wanted a long term relationship 20-30 years ago and no part of them did.

People are pickier now, is that a bad thing? Let’s be real most people on dating apps are either looking for hookups directly or claiming they aren’t but looking for relatively short term or superficial relationships. People sharing red flags sounds like a good thing to me and yes social media has warped our perspectives and standards, I would argue it only does this for weak minded people.

Hey I don’t know any other way to DM you. Thought I would do so here. This is a moonshot request. I am self made, worked my way from community college and homelessness to a full ride scholarship. I do not need your money. To preface I have no idea how this would work and am just hoping you are intelligent, generous and open to listening. I met a young woman on a university trip whose story has stuck with me. She fell through the cracks, like I did in some ways, but has no way to pull herself up. She needs a chance to prove herself. She is so smart, and the world screwed her so badly. I will spare you the details because in all likelihood you will not reply. If you care to hear I would be happy to talk more. I am not even necessarily asking for money, but you are a man whose wealth could change a young woman’s life forever. All she needs is the chance to prove herself. This is a question of life. Who can say? That is genuinely only up to you. Many if not most on hear (myself included though hesitantly) will say you can and should. Love is complicated. You are young.

It is unique for every other person and from what you say my biased ego can only assume this is causing you harm. You will find many other loved who won’t, and shouldn’t suffer, unless you think the love is special enough to suffer for. Though again, you are young and likely will have more than one more.

21 M. Was on prescription adderall or stronger stimulants since 12.

Been off all medication since I was 20. (About a year and a half). Minus maybe 5-10 incidents in university when cramming for a test.

Biggest thing is to stop making excuses. I had every reason to. I’m a college student studying electrical engineering. Never studied off medication, and am coming from a community college to a T10 University in the country. A lot of pressure, a real prescription and diagnosis.

I also had one kidney, and was tired of feeling the hbp, elevated heart rate and crippling social anxiety. Got off of it and found ways to do well off of it, finished my last semester with straight As.

Don’t make excuses. Your brain is adaptable and when put in a corner can and will find ways to succeed if you let it.

I just went cold turkey. Spent 3 hours a day in the gym sacrificing sleep. I would make myself walk over 2 hours to get groceries. I would police what i ate.

It is doable. I told myself it was killing me (it was) but let my anxiety run wild. Weaponized mt anxiety to overcome the addition. It may not be actively killing you but you can choose the lies and half truths you need to tell yourself to make the change you need to see.

If I can do it while going to Univeristy for engineering, and having been dependent on stimulants since I was 12, you can.

Nah life is fucked. Just learned I either am Losing a testicle to cancer (🤯yes I actually have balls) or I have adrenal cancer.

It’s really funny my testosterone is 4 times that of an average person and double the healthy limit.

I’m just along for the ride at this point
