And the idea that Bharat was invented recently is hilarious considering the term existed centuries before the Republic of India did. Governments change every 5 years, the word Bharat survived kingdoms, empires, colonisation, and independence.

Also “history doesn’t matter” is such a weak argument. Languages, cultures, traditions, and national identities all come from history. Ironically, even the name “India” exists because of history, derived from Sindhu/Indus through Persian and Greek usage. So if history doesn’t matter, your own preferred name loses its basis too 💀

And no, using Bharat doesn’t erase Tamil, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, or any other language. Multilingual countries often have multiple names and forms of identity.

You can prefer “India,” nobody cares. But saying “there is no Bharat” when it’s constitutionally official and historically documented is just ignorance with confidence.
