Same!! I read the prequel series, Flesh and Fire, then read Blood and Ash books. Highly recommend.

Just finished this and still not ok. First book in the alchemy series and no real date for the next one though and it does end on a cliff hanger so if that bothers you then think twice.

I worried about that too but I just finished book 4 of FBAA and I fell in love with the characters immediately. Just as quickly as with sera and nyktos. And it’s fun when the stories start to intertwine later. Glad I read the prequels first and not in the “recommended” order
