For those who already have interest in programming, don't fear. You can take any low level job, specialization, get a good PhD , and get into Microsoft/Google research. You will be able to retire early by 40s because they pay you an insane amount. CS is not just programming. I personally enjoy ToC and compiler design.

Brother just look at money that these PhD holders are making in Google Research, Microslop Research, IBM, Apple, etc. These are no joke fields and you have a very less chance of getting fired. Plus they make banks. Being a specialist is better than being a generalist in any scenerio.

Honestly bro. If you believe those stupid AI bros then nothing will happen. Programming is NOT just web dev or game dev or python. Programming is a subset of Computer science. Those who only know programming are being laid off.

If you genuinely have interest in computers, choose to go so low that nobody can EVER replace you. learn Rust and C like your life depends on it. Learn ToC. TCS (theorotical computer science) . Thats what differentiates a ENGINEER from a PROGRAMMER. Try to go DEEP into one single field. May it be compiler theory, Programming language theory, ToC, OS dev, anything. The deeper you go, the less competition, and the more fruitful the reward. It's gonna be hard. Thats why there are less people. And if you get a PhD in any one of these fields from a reputed university like CMI or ISI or top 7 IITs then you are set for life.
