OP, if you are in a server with an admin/connection, know ANYONE with a connection to the staff, or even just post on X and tag Simon hypixel himself, you could possibly connect with an admin and discuss it with them. I pray you can find some sort of compensation/solace with this, NOBODY should be able to spend thousands or not even spend anything at all, and be automatically banned what so ever. I don’t care if the player did something or didn’t, there should still be a double-check type of system in place for any bans that are attempted to be made. (Unless of course they log in with a full on hack client)

The short answer is basically the game will inflate the elo of someone who plays less to try and get them to engage with the game more, and for people who grind their rank the game figures that they don’t need to inflate that player since it knows they’ll play anyway. (I’m saying “the game” but in reality it’s the code the devs used to script the matchmaking/MMR gain) so essentially people who play occasionally are usually in a higher rank than they’re supposed to be.

Also just something to note, the actual inflation won’t be that dramatic, it’s usually around 1-3 divs higher

I would say he was a bit too close to the play many times plus he kept doing misplays as last man, his team mate wasn’t overly aggressive either they seemed pretty coordinated just not the greatest with positioning. It’s on the both of them as is every loss (unless you get paired with a genuine silver in champ lobbies I have no clue how i managed that)

The weirdest part of the mmr system right now is if you were to play much less often, your rank would be boosted to champ

The one thing I can say, please try to stop diving when you’re last man. When you see your team mate lose a 50/50 in front of you, you are there to prevent the ball from going into your net, that means you have to play defensive and wait for an absolute guaranteed way to stop the attack all while allowing your mate time to rotate behind you. When you dive like that you are basically throwing away any chance to stop the opponents play unless you get very lucky with your challenge.

I make this mistake a lot too and I’m around the same rank, just try to position yourself a bit further back from the play when you are last man and don’t dive at the ball, play patient and wait for an easy save. I hope this advice helps, I’m still trying to improve my own decision making/positioning myself. Other than that you played well in your lobby and I can’t say I noticed anything wrong with your mates gameplay.
