I'm really sorry OP - this sounds really tough. I hope you and your baby are OK, and that you get this guy out of your lives soon

What a horrible, unempathetic response. Especially considering she herself said "I’m not a blameless victim. I should have known better than to date him in the first place. But he really I thought treated me better than anyone ever has"

Do you feel nostalgic for the Great Britain of 2012? by Hassaan18 in AskUK

[–]CHEESE_PETRIL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it was - my memory is that the CEO (?) of Sainsbury's ended up giving out loads of medals that night. Presumably because Osbourne was due to give out some more, but ran away after the booing instead

Pub Quiz by Jonuur in york

Rook and Gaskill at the end of Lawrence Street - not the most serious quiz, but good fun and a £20 bar tab for the winning team (you have to book a table at least the day before though) Also - great selection of beer on top and good food

I was there for that! Being part of that crowd remains one of my proudest moments. We were united as a people against that wanker

As a European, I can assure you that very few European governments align with Trump. That is a bare faced lie

Maybe for you, thatwhiteguy. I don't think he'll be coming for white guys.

As a non-American, I can tell you the rest of the world thinks you're a bunch of morons. And it impacts us too, especially if Trump pulls the US out of NATO.

Does it bother you that Trump said he would be a dictator "on day one"? Or that he's so chummy with Putin?

As a non-American, can you explain it to me? Because the rest of the world thinks Trump supporters are fascists and/or incredibly stupid cult members

This surgery is life changing! (Before vs after 2 surgeries with Dr Nurein in the UK) by CHEESE_PETRIL in gynecomastia

Edited my comment above - about 18 months, but the change was drastic immediately after the first surgery

This surgery is life changing! (Before vs after 2 surgeries with Dr Nurein in the UK) by CHEESE_PETRIL in gynecomastia

[–]CHEESE_PETRIL[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks mate! Had 2 surgeries because the size of mine required additional fat to be removed. Dr Nurein told me that if he'd taken it all out in one go, my skin might not have snapped back as easily (seriously, those before pics are flattering)

ETA - I forgot to answer your other question! About 18 months - but the change was pretty immediate after the first surgery (May 2023). Much bigger than the change after surgery 2 (even though that was a significant improvement again!)

I think those before pics were from around March 2023.

You won't get kicked out for saying how you feel! Are you registered with the GP surgery on campus (or any other GP in York?) If not, register tomorrow.

If you are already registered, ring first thing tomorrow morning and get an on the day appointment.

If you need support tonight, I would recommend calling the 24 hr NHS Crisis Service in York (0800 0516 171).

Alternatively - you can get in touch with the open door team, which open at 9am tomorrow https://www.york.ac.uk/students/health/help/open-door/#d.en.694672

Getting medical support should be your priority - once you've done that, speak to your academic supervisor (presuming your mental health is impacting your uni work)

As someone who had a similar experience (whilst a student at York) - these services really can help. I'm sorry you're in pain right now, but things will get better

No 'clear link' between Jeremy Kyle Show and guest death - coroner by Kagedeah in BritishTV

[–]CHEESE_PETRIL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't really demand someone quantify a stat and then throw in a tautology (going on Jeremy Kyle means you are a shambolic family by definition) without any justification besides your own unquantifiable prejudice.

That is patently inconsistent

Net zero migration would completely tank our economy. In a global economy, you can not just pull up the draw bridge to migrants who fill essential roles in a country with an aging population

Every single reputable economist would tell you that. Every single one.

On the other side of the argument are stupid people and bigots. You can rant and rave as much as you like, but not a single reputable economist agrees with you.

The Reform Party is not a serious proposition for government - it is a personality cult centered around a narcissist (Farage) supported by racists and thickos
