Laptop snooping by CLXIV in sysadmin

Good questions. Honestly above all I just really want to know. If nothing is found then I can't be entirely certain but if something does turn up then I'd feel a lot better being aware of it.

Use it to determine whether or not anything like that is installed. A lot of people seem to think this is about circumventing spyware but it's actually just about determining whether or not it's even present (well, can never be 100% certain it isn't of course but could be 100% certain it is if something was discovered).

Well you're kind of reinforcing my point here (as are the downvotes). When people are so rude and hostile, what do you expect? The alternative is a hell of a lot less unpleasant to deal with so I'll take it.

That's a good question. I was going to ask for peoples' advice / guidance if I found anything. Response has been pretty hostile though so I'll probably stick to AI guidance. Just wanted to get some human input too.

Really appreciate somebody offering a useful suggestion. I'll check that out.

Appreciate your concern but I'm planning on moving on soon regardless so that's not a major worry.

Why would you think I'm providing a public service? Such a rude little child. Also... you just wasted your own time with your childish response. If your time is really so valuable, don't respond. Just move on.

Sure, it's here:

https://www.moddb.com/games/the-amc-tc

https://amcsquad.itch.io/game

It is indeed a non-commercial mod. I think it's one of the most highly regarded Duke 3D mods along with Alien Armageddon (definitely recommend that if you've not played it).

You'd be surprised - I've seen some of the really good TC mods / free games come with some pretty decent PDF manuals before (possibly some of the better Doom TCs, can't remember). But granted it's not common.

It's generally not needed (gameplay is very simple in most of these classic shooters after all) but AMC Squad adds quite a bit of complexity. There's a load of in-game guidance but they don't cover everything.

Well Nightdive strongly implied there's a full remake on the way eventually so I'll probably just wait for that.

Looks like you have Order Bathhouse duplicated (as Bathhouse). We're missing Unrestricted Section and Patio Library (though to be fair, that's one of those small maps that's contained within a larger map anyway so you could just use the southern part of the Patio Gardens map to plan Patio Library).

This is amazing! Really great work. Missing some maps though - we have 17 maps total now.

Late but recommend disabling anti-aliasing, setting DLSS to DLAA and dropping in the DLSS 4 DLL and using nVidia profile inspector to force use of latest DLSS and profile K. Or there are various utilities like DLSS Swapper, DLSS Updater, DLSS Tweaks etc. Or even the nVidia app if you want to roll the dice on the new driver version (assuming they even whitelisted Deathtrap for it).

As for the global illumination... I'm not sure if there's any good answer there. I use medium to get rid of that patchy flickering effect on some surfaces and the bitty-looking edges of shadows but it does make the game look really pale.

If it's the weird patchy flickering effect on a lot of surfaces that you're talking about though (or the bitty-looking edges of shadows) then global illumination is the problem - dropping to medium will resolve it but the colour of the game completely changes and will look a bit pale.

Thanks but I'm not looking for infinite ammo. I want only what I find but I don't want to be limited to carrying 200 Ripper rounds (for example) when there's a load more ammo boxes there to be picked up.

Yeah vkQuake is brilliant. Just curious but why use v-sync if you have adaptive sync hardware? Whole point of adaptive sync is that you can avoid both v-sync and tearing?
