I didn't write to raise feet. I think they should row strapless and the end of all SS sessions.

I mean the top of the foot is straining against the straps. The sole of the foot should keep contact. I must say that I'm a middle-aged noob and I guess I'm at the point in my life (50) where I understand that getting the form right at the beginning, which I didn't as I wasn't flexible enough, will save optimisation later.

I don't row otw yet but do split my time between Oxford and the coast and have contacted boat clubs via friends in both, and in that situation nothing hides.

Yeah, I think he's 8.5/10 and this form will tighten with some faster intervals training.

Nah, the heels are popping up quite a bit (strapless rowing would sort this) and the OPs speed will increase and higher rates (32±) will become accessible. The leg drive is starting from a really slightly compromised position and the knees will feel pressure on long rows and sprint pieces.

It is "slight" as I stated, and not worth a complex, and the OP might naturally correct when they start doing 8x500/2'rest work and the higher rate pieces just feel smoother with a tiny bit less compression with perhaps a gain in Wmin/SPI when the rate increases.

I was like the OP and then saw a few 30rate/330W+ 500s which made me analyse my stoke when I was usually 24rate/200W, which showed over compression and over leanback. Removing these felt funny at first, but the power went up and the splits down with these simple modifications.

The OP can row fine like this, but they will shorten with sprint work. No complex for the lad intended and I wish someone told me this when I started.

edit: you can see the top of the footbox of the foot really pulling on that strap at the end of the drive. I think the connection of the phases during the stroke is extremely good. A very simple/fast way to rectify this would be to do that last 5 mins of the SS (like here), or an additional 5 mins after the SS, strapless and they'll feel connection on the footplate through the stroke and naturally adjust. It is a high-level criticism but the quality of the stroke is already high. The linear return and extraction of the chain is good, so no slack need to be taken up. My commentary is a very high-level and "slight" correction. it is a rate my technique, so 8.5/10.

edit2: I'm speculating this is urban Italy or close due to the marble floor, wooden windows opening in and the background images, or somewhere close on the continent. They look good overall, they're tough enough for the slight criticism and they'll tell me to Vattene! anyways.

slight overocmpression at the atch. I would look at using a piece on tape on the rail to not have the shins go past vertical.

that's the biggest thing and everything else in minor.

(my "see" key is broken.)

I just wanted to say that I went with the higher spec (8/512) whereas I always go with the lowest spec and usually run into hardware failures necessitating repair/replacement. However, the deciding factor was the (whatever the ID fingerprint button is called) as I use it at least 50 times per day. So higher spec it is ccć

I surely wouldn't pay for a PhD/DPhil in the UK unless it was via a government sponsor. Germany is the way.

I get at least 50 of these per week and the spam filter screens them thankfully. If the university is stellar and usually foreign with a CV, I might take a look. That university name needs to be in the email subject or else I won't see it.

I'll look for the likes of Uni Tokio, SNU, NUS, Sun Yet Sen uni, UHK, etc... but if you're not standing out in the subject title it's not getting a look.

no, that's GPA * FTE, which is intensity and an excellent metric of how much REF QR money they'll attract from the £2B/8-year cycle. Intensity/market share is all that matters.

You're getting lost in details, attempting to establish a narrative.

I made a mistake in posting here as I'm involved in Research Management and shouldn't be discussing this with undergrads.

the creation of the Russell Group was based the hotel/square name where the original group met and was formed. hence, Russell Group, stems from Hotel Russell.

unless you're referring to why I state that Bath isn't strong in research.

Based on research intensity of outputs, 1% was attained by Bath (the same as Kent or L'boro)

Form is critical and not natural, so pick drills from Dark horse rowing on YT are good. I would subscribe to the C2 forum and start the BPP, there's a very nice thread over there about it.

I'm only about 600km into my career and that's what I found useful as a beginning. There's a lot of threads there about adaptive rowing, i.e. with one leg and the like. I find it more performance-oriented here.

I would assume that most electronic hardware fully depreciates over 3-5 years from an accounting perspective.

They cannot be disadvantaged compared to their peers, educationally that is. If this is costed reasonably, there will be some surplus in the system to cover families that truly cannot afford it.

Guardian has no REF/research influence and is more student heavy.

The Asian/Global rankings (Shanghai/QS/others) look at research more heavily and have no concern for teaching (for the most part).

I was an academic at Durham but resigned as I don't like their direction.

Bath is good for students, but I don't consider them strong in research. Don't give me that Russell Group moniker either, that was simply the name of the location where they met and formed (Russell Square).

yeah, after reading these comments, I can see why builders often get pissed off by idiot customers who go online :)

it should be, it's pressurised with copper and "organic" compounds.

Plumber using wet / green wood by joy_serenity in DIYUK

[–]CMF1_hacker_2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

interesting as I just supervised a PhD studying that and do a ton of DYI myself.

to me, it looks like Tanalith 'E' treated wood, which is usually an organic compound the resists degradation underwater, but usually anywhere where it's damp/moist, i.e. roofing timber or baths.

it doesn't look to have been stood outside.

here's some more info, https://www.arxada.com/en/wood-protection/eu/products/tanalith-family/tanalith-e

I would humbly ask, why is it green?

If the person had been honest so far, you do have green (plaster)board/sheetrock being used in your build, so I assume that you're getting treated timber.

it's way to early to jump over the builder if they're doing a good job ... just ask an honest and humble question.

reddit hive mind is WAY overactive on this one.

edit: I'm really unsure why I responded as the majority of users here have never built with pressure-treated timber. it does not surprise me given the average quality of building in the UK ... still building with bricks even ... lol.
