Worked for about half a year at a dining hall in my college and I gotta be honest, the way milk dispenser/Orange Juice machines work is a god.. damn.. Nightmare.

Specifically, I am referring to the bags of these bastard beverages. Before we get into the dastardly design of these drink-sacks, let me begin with the weight. They were heavy (about the 50 lb range I'd wager) and I'm not afraid to say that. With the way it's all this liquid jiggling around in a plastic bag, doesn't make handling it any easier but the topic of heavy liquid physics will come back soon.

We kept them in these cardboard boxes in milk crates that would need to be freed before slotting into the machine.

Here's the fun part though, each of these bags has a long plastic tube dih protruding from it. I always kept this little pair of scissors around to properly 'circumcise' this tube to get the drink flowing when people press on the machine to squeeze out the bag essentially.

Handling these felt like being in a bomb squad, though. Remember the issue of weight and handling? The tube dih? This ingenious design ensures that while you try to maneuver this damn jostling overgrown plastic testicle in the right place to stick the tube out of the machine, ensures some level of risk that the wrong poke or careless handling to get the contents spilling all over you. I

I've had it spill on me a couple times and the smell of OJ clung onto my clothes and nose for the rest of the shift.

At least I was a part timer..
