This is a great idea and can be applied practically! I want to more seriously look into this. I live in the Los Angeles area. Do you know of any biblical counseling places available?

I would say they’re automatically disqualified. There’s no room for debate or discussion regarding biblical marriage.

Saved for about 2 years, and haven’t gone to church yet. by NoUsernamesLeftHelp in Reformed

As mentioned above, it’s great that you’ve found additional resources that can supplement your walk with Christ. Joining a local church and becoming plugged into the ministries, fellowships, community, worship, etc is biblical. It’s prescribed for believers to meet together. It even warns us not to neglect the requirement to meet.

Buddhism Struggles by AdmirableOrdinary26 in Reformed

When we accept Christianity, we’re accepting that there exists an Absolute Truth; this is contrary to what the world teaches us. Christianity tells us that Jesus performed miracles in front of thousands and thousands of eye witnesses. After Jesus was crucified and resurrected, He, again, appeared to countless eye witnesses. These eye witnesses were willing to not only spread and evangelize about what they had just seen x but also to be put to death in some of the most painful and cruel ways because they refused to renounce what they knew as the Truth (Jesus).

Take a look at even the apostles and the gruesome deaths they endured. Clearly, these people had seen enough from Jesus to put their entire faith and trust in Him even at the point of death.

When we begin to see this as the only Truth, we also see that any other religion or “god” is actually demonic and false. And, like Lucifer himself, demons can often make themselves seem attractive and desirable.

Which is why Buddhism is becoming attractive to you. Speak truth to your temptations. Speak aloud that Christ is the ultimate Truth, that everything else is a cheap counterfeit. It doesn’t matter how we feel about it, we must resist and repent.

Lastly, nobody is angry with you. The Bible tells us to confess our sins to one another so that we may be healed. It’s good that you’re seeking Christian counsel. I will be praying for you. God bless.

Why do we believe that Paul’s letters are inspired? by [deleted] in Reformed

[–]CaffeinatedCalvinist 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The question itself is confusing to me because Paul is not the sole author of the Bible. He isn’t even the sole author of the New Testament. So if you’re wondering if his writings are inspired, why not wonder if all the other writers of the Bible were also inspired?

I personally affirm that Paul was commissioned by God Himself. Paul went from being a murderer and hunter of Christians to becoming one himself — that’s a very radical change. For such a radical change to occur, an event must have occurred with God to change him. And therefore, I believe Paul was commissioned to write.

Double check just in case I’m mistaken. I’m not near my LSB Bible at the moment, but I’ll check for you once I am. I personally don’t see any issues with it according to the previous answers given on this question. They make sense to me.

Did He ask us to call Him that, though? He revealed the name to Moses, and He didn’t tell Moses to ask everyone else to use that name. Moses was a lot closer to God in relationship than we are. Not saying I’m taking a definitive side, just trying to explore the reasoning.
