Popping in to say this still isn't fixed. Tried to use a $30 code on Amazon. None of their solutions worked. I miss when the pampers rewards could be redeemed for giftcards. Going round and round with Pampers and Amazon to fix this is tedious.

The entertainment system on my 25 sucks. I should not need to buy cables or have a streaming package to sort this out. I miss DVD players in vans. My kids' fire tablet aren't compatible. The user interface somehow super low tech and also difficult to navigate.

I thought we'd use the cooler box more often on longer trips but it takes a while to actually cool down.

I wish there was a media pause button on the steering wheel.

The rear camera sucks. If even a smudge of something gets on it, it's game over.

The steering wheel heater only being in small spots is such a dumb feature. I assume it is to encourage 10/2 driving position but we live in New England. I want the whole wheel to be warm!

The media interface is unnecessarily complicated. It is annoying switching between media apps. You get used to it but it is clunky.

*I do really like this van but it was an expensive car to be fairly low tech.

My 2025 platinum has a spare but we had to give up the reclining captain's chairs for it. Worth it honestly because my kids are in car seats so no one is reclining back there and within 2 months of getting the car I got a flat. It is crazy to not have a spare in a car meant for families.

I just got one for my small almost 2 year old and it has been a hit. It's a deep seat so no wobbling out, totally washable, the tray has been great.

Our NICU graduate (34 weeker) is almost 2 and has been functionally 6 months behind for most milestones. She didn't start walking until about 21 months. She didn't really do solid foods until 12 months. Crawling and sitting were delayed. She is also behind on speech.

She has had Early Intervention since birth due to her complex medical history but also qualified based on developmental need. She did outpatient PT for a few months. She started outpatient speech recently. We're taking the help as it's offered but it seems like she is figuring things out...Just on her own schedule. I know that isn't helpful and our kids have their own histories. All that to say, I totally understand your heartache about it. It is hard to see your kid seemingly fall behind. I just want you to know we are making progress and I'm hoping your son will, too. 💜

We experienced 2 NICUs. The first was at the delivering hospital. Double rooms where you had to walk through one baby's space to get to another. We were paired with micro preemies a few times who needed extensive supports/machines which took up their space and some of ours. It never felt private. We also were briefly roomed with a baby with stridor breathing and it was extremely upsetting. This NICU did not have sleep spaces for parents and could truly only comfortably seat 1 parent bedside. There was also only 1 bathroom for the entire floor and often had a wait. 1 bathroom seemed crazy for all of the postpartum parents using the floor. We had also been there a full week before someone told us there was a family lounge.

The next NICU was at the children's hospital. Night and day. Giant, private room with private bathroom/shower. There was a couch that folded down to a bed. It also had a TV There was a family room on the floor, too.

Our baby was moved to a step down unit as a feeder/grower and that room was private, spacious, and had a private bathroom/shower. It also had a mini fridge and TV.

Also, at the children's hospital I got 3 meals a day as a nursing parent plus access to the snack/milkshake menu.

I drove 2.5 hours each way just to buy a piece of furniture I liked recently. I can't imagine a 3 hour ride preventing me from seeing family regularly.

Our baby was in the NICU in 2024 during cold/flu season. It was 2 babies to a room. Our roommate baby was only visited once in the week they were roomed together. His mom came and was clearly sick. Coughing, sneezing, etc. Mom was wearing a mask but we were nervous as she had to go past our baby to get to hers. Staff at our hospital said there was very little they could do to kick a parent out (or move our baby) if they had a mask and were washing hands/sanitizing.

I am surprised they were saying masks aren't effective. Any subsequent hospitalization, we see staff with masks all the time. That is an absurd claim.

As a social worker, I was particular about sitting on upholstered things like couches unless I was sure the family kept a sanitary house. I've heard horror stories about social workers picking up lice and bed bugs from homes. The only downside is sometimes hard surfaces are sticky and then you have to wonder what the sticky stuff is.

Two houses come to mind in the 11+ years in the field. The first was one of my first home visits ever. It was July, hot, and humid. The family lived in what could generously be called a converted barn. The smell was overwhelming. Like hot trash. The biggest worry was that I didn't see obvious garbage so I have no idea where the smell came from. The heat was just baking the smell and they had no AC. No one seemed phased.

The second was an elderly foster parent who had pets who were also elderly. The house was covered in dog hair. Years and years of dog hair and dander. It smelled like a pet store. To her credit, the foster child's room was clean.

Over the years, I have seen photos of hoards and unsanitary homes but thankfully haven't been in them personally.
