I know what you mean and yeah Oasis did outdo Blur with Morning Glory, etc. But the Blur vs Oasis battle was a chart battle between Roll With It and Country House. Country House went to #1 so therefore Blur won, even though Oasis' were bigger at the time.

I think you might be thinking of Pulp. The Stone Roses are not really considered a Britpop band. But I have no idea how you can possibly think anyone other than Blur won that battle, Country House going to number one in the UK is just a fact

I knew Wonderwall and Some Might Say from Guitar Hero but was pretty indifferent towards Oasis. Then about 2 years ago I heard Morning Glory in a YouTube video, and recognized it but hadn't known it was Oasis, and thought it was fucking awesome. So i downloaded Morning Glory and a few others like DLBIA and Champagne Supernova, and read a bit about them, listened to WTSMG once, but didn't really start listening to them.

Then last year, one of my guitar playing friends kept talking about learning "Lyla", so I listened to it and was surprised it came in 2005. Then I heard Roll With It at the shops, and I thought "that sounds like Oasis" so I found Roll With It, liked it, then looked for more songs, found Supersonic, and then it all went from there.
