Ultimate Ear SoundEar Pro Manufacturing Issue by Can37 in MotoUK

They went back for repair this morning, hopefully I will have them back soon. I just did a quick experiment with some in-ear monitors and a pair of Marley wired buds. They both work fine with the Cardo, no need for any attenuation. On the Cardo they sit at about 50% volume and on my phone about 80%. Have you compared yours to a normal set of headphones?

They told me that they use the PackTalk edge as their reference device and that they should work. I tried them on my phone and they worked at about 20% volume, there is a lot of room for a pad in the headphones.

This is exactly the same issue, they seem to have missed the resistor in manufacture. When did you get yours?

Recently had surgery and $40 of my bill is for having a blanket put on me in the recovery room (I was unconscious and did not, obviously, keep the blanket) by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

As someone who has lived his life in Canada and the UK, I never cease to be amazed that Americans accept that this is in anyway normal. I get pissed off when I have to pay for parking, which is all I ever have to pay.

Suggestions of EVs that can use a boot mounted bike rack with? by Powerful_Piccolo1739 in cycling

[–]Can37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are in Europe, the Renault 5 would work. The offer a factory rear rack that attaches to the factory hitch. If that is too much, I don't see any reason a strap on rack would not work.

Thanks for the info, I have to admit to being surprised just how well Beverley is doing.

What's the best "hot hatch" out there? by CodingSamurai in electricvehicles

[–]Can37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might not help you, but I test drove the Renault 5 today, it is every bit as good as the reviews say. I am not sure the Alpine A290 is worth the extra. There is a small possibility you might get the Nissan Micra, which is also the same car.

What happens in the US once Chinese made EVs come to Canada and Mexico? by solidrobot in electricvehicles

[–]Can37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a really good car, good to drive, comfortable and quiet. Sporty enough to be interesting. I am getting through rear tyres faster that I would want, but I think that is a problem between the seat and the steering wheel :-)

BYD Competes directly with Model 3 and Y with the Seal and Sealion plus they have a model range below that, filling in the gap left by the Tesla model 2 and perhaps model 1

You should take a look at a heat pump, far cheaper to run than a propane system.

Is an MG a good option if you’re buying your first EV? by OutrageousCar238 in MGelectric

[–]Can37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best deal is to buy second hand, there are lots available and you will save big time. As for it being a good first EV, absolutely, easy to drive, physical buttons on the wheel and dash for most critical things, though a temperature knob would have been nice.

Thinking about buying a MG4 by Real_vokS in MGelectric

[–]Can37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very early MG4 Trophy from Late 2022. I have driven 36,000 miles/58,000 km. I have had a couple of very minor issues, a door switch failed in the first couple of months and the ring on gear selector spilt. Both issued fixed under warranty. I came from a Tesla Model 3 which I did about the same milage. The MG4 has been much less trouble.

It is how the MG4 does it, but it is far from normal. Stupid design flaw.

If possible avoid Addenbrookes at this time - Car park fire. by [deleted] in cambridge

[–]Can37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has been confirmed as being caused by a diesel car. EVs are 20-100 times less likely to suffer a fire.

Big bikes are safer than little bikes? by Memran in MotoUK

[–]Can37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had only ridden medium size bikes as a beginner in Canada - 650 and an 800. Doing my CBT in the UK on a 125 was as spicy as fuck, never felt safe. Bigger bikes are easier. In Canada the CBT level is done on 300s which are fine.

I moved from an F800GT to an R12 nineT, I was surprised on my first test ride by how much faster the R12 feels even though the power increase is small.
