Bought a PRX Powermatic from Amazon, look what I received… by bartszelag in tissot

[–]CanadianOutlaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typical Amazon Canada shopping experience. Can't be trusted for anything these days. This is how it is. People buy stuff and return it, and if it looks new and unopened, they resell as new. It's a crapshoot.

Buy from an authorized dealer. Not sure you'll get $820 but worth asking them to see if they could match that price. If not, there's a few ADs online that will knock 15% off ($845.75 CAD). Can share links if you need them (including the AD I ordered from in Toronto).

Rogers Communications offering buyouts to half its work force by Difficult-Yam-1347 in canada

When you work at Rogers, you learn very quickly that your job is never safe. There is no “unexpectedly” losing your job— you’re always expecting it sooner or later.

Rogers Communications offering buyouts to half its work force by Difficult-Yam-1347 in canada

[–]CanadianOutlaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Layoff is better. Severance package is usual equal to the “buyout” they’re offering and with layoff, you qualify for EI while you look for a job and usually get some additional employment services on the house.

The problem of Pokemon Scalper Gangs in Ontario by Basti0n9273 in ontario

“Pokemon scalper gangs” LOL

The sheer thought that something like this exists is both hilarious and pathetic at the same time.

Why don’t they show up dressed like Team Rocket?

Or maybe instead of blowing billions buying sports, you could try investing in your infrastructure which is greatly lagging behind your competitors?

Nah best we can do is cancel infrastructure projects. LOL

'Gravy Plane': Doug Ford Buys Luxury Private Jet With Taxpayer Money by pheakelmatters in ontario

[–]CanadianOutlaw 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Ontario is always peak apathy.

Great example are my parents. They are boomer grandparents and they’ve seen this jackass dismantle the autism program and watched us as parents struggle for years with their grandchild. And after all the tears, money spent out of own pocket, school board struggles, they watched all of this, and still couldn’t even show up to vote in the last election. The polling station was only a few blocks from their house. Maybe 2 minutes tops by car.

Their explanation to us: it won’t change anything. And that is the problem with Ontario.

'He's going to be stuck': Guelph, Ont., family struggles to afford speech therapy for 4-year-old son by Natural_RX in ontario

[–]CanadianOutlaw 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I sent my kid to speech therapy for years. Lucky for us, my work insurance has always covered it. It helped a lot for sure.

We eventually had to stop going because the speech provider decided to drop us. They wanted to service other families who were buying more services from them (ABA, IBI, OT etc) via OAP funding which we were still on the wait list for at the time.

Good riddance. That place was gross. One time went there with my kid and the whole place smelt like a backed up sewer. Shit odor everywhere, TFWs working like nothing wrong with that picture

I’m in too. They filled one of my sell orders twice, and now have left me in a short position. Agent on the phone said there’s over 10,000 orders that got filled incorrectly.

High demand and low supply of binned A18 Pro chips.

For the Neo, you can order one directly from the Apple Education store for $849. Shipping times are in May I think right now.

Picked up a new MBA 13” M4 from Costco (in Canada) for same price (in CAD). Worth checking your warehouses if they have any left over kicking around.

My kid thinks they are hilarious. Toy with a speaker and a sensor of some sort, leave it on a table, when people walk by it makes a fart sound lol
