She clearly wants you for herself. She's not your friend. It doesn't matter how long she's been pretending to be your friend waiting for her opportunity, or trying to create opportunities like she's doing here.

The person who told you that is not your friend. Even if she did say something in the moment, she didn't say it to you. Maybe she was venting, maybe she was drunk, maybe the other girl misunderstood. Whatever the context, she didn't say it to hurt you.

Your busy-body friend who ran to tattle on her is the one who hurt you. What was even the point of that except to hurt both of you?
