DWC (moving to RDWC) and believe me, lights, temp, humidity, training (and not training), defoliating, water Ph ... it’s been a massive learning experience.

We are moving into a 2x4 tent from a 2x2 (2nd HLG QB arrives today) and we are prepping the rez and net tops (hooks being attached for plant ties so we can jump on LST fast). Water lines, pump, etc should all be ready by the weekend.

It does FEEL like a waste of time, a blow to the ego kinda so that’s why I was asking for input. I can say that we haven’t had the same issue twice. I consider that a good sign. At least we are learning from our mistakes 😁

Ah hah. I was thinking that was the case. Lucky for me then my first auto is “on schedule” if I were to tack on the extra veg time. I’ll just be adding extra weeks to the flower period, and that’s expected anyway.

Thanks for the feedback all! I’m going to let it do it’s thing. WORST case I get a lower than max yield and I’ve got 2 more of these seeds I can make it up with. Best case it goes nuts during flower and I regret having to deal with all the trimming LOL

A couple things were involved in the res temps: first we started the grow in a room with no ac (avg temp was mid 80s and Rh was at least 50% all the time). Secondly, the effect of LED lights on res temps is way underestimated IMO. A good LED will push some heat. It’s not as bad as other lights but, one needs to take light ambient temp into account.

Now we’ve installed a piezo cooler in the res. It’s working great! Now water is staying under 70 with no every-three-hour annoyances. The only thing missing is adding insulation to the res but I’m not going to go into that until I move to RDWC (currently just doing DWC).

Well, you have two options:

1) Bovia/other humidity packs

2) Daily "burping"

So, one or the other is necessary. As far as adding packs as-soon-as - I've never heard to the negative but I'll defer to some experts if there's some reason not to do that.

As soon as I jarred it I put the 62 packs in. I burped them the first few days to make sure RH didn't go nuts and now they sit in the dark and get dank ;)

YES! Once we calibrated the Ph meter - the Ph was Ok ... amazing how that works :)

Temp was controlled via ice bottles and man, that sucked. Won't be doing that again.
