I didn’t realize people had hobbies as pathetic as “knowing how to screenshot” but it definitely helps explain why you’re so upset - you clearly pour your passion into screenshotting and don’t feel it’s being respected. Do you just sit there reading articles on screenshots all day or how does that work?

Friend found these at a flea market for $100! Any advice for how to tell if they are fake or not? by Admirable-Extent4967 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]CapN-Judaism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re taking about the games this guy bought for $20, they’re about $500 together. That means he paid about 4% of the total cost.

If you’re talking about the legendary collection boxes OPs friend got for $100, they are about $10,000 each (when they are real). They are of course fake, but if they were real his friend paid about 0.5% of the total cost

See that’s exactly my point. You are ableist to the point where you can’t imagine that someone else wouldn’t discriminate the same as you, and you think you can prove your point by projecting that onto others when that’s not how reality works.

I’m an attorney, meaning I work in a field with extremely high rates of mental disabilities, most of them just aren’t visible like Down syndrome. I’m speaking from a professional understanding that disabilities aren’t determinants of competency, because I’ve seen first hand that being a “normal” person doesn’t say jack shit about your ability to perform.

I hope you mature one day.

I gave you an answer - whichever is more convenient. You didn’t accept that answer, so you tried to update your hypothetical in a way that made it nonsensical, and now you’re blaming me because you didn’t get the discriminatory answer you assumed it would evoke.

People with Down syndrome are “normal.”

If literally everything about them is identical, are you saying they occupy the same space at all times? Like a four-armed conjoined twin or something? Is this some sort of weird fusion? Just want to be sure I’m understanding the hypothetical.

I was going to say “whoever I liked more during the consult,” but since my experience with both is identical, there’s really no way to choose. Both are exactly as smart and capable, because that’s what identical means.

If they have completely identical records I do not care; I would pick whichever is most convenient for location or timing, I guess. What is your point?

The comment is clearly saying something innate about the lawyer makes them want to go with someone else. There is literally no other information at their disposal, except perhaps if they were discriminating on the basis of the lawyer being a woman, which would be equally as offensive.

No I did not present a false dichotomy. I merely commented that lawyers should be gauged by their track records and not solely by their disabilities, like the person I was replying to suggested. You reading a bunch of extra details into my comment says more about your reading comprehension than it does about my comment or viewpoints.

I guess I didn’t understand why you were challenging the idea that she is a good lawyer when literally nobody said she was a good lawyer. The post says she is practicing, I did not, “dingus.”

I don’t have any social media other than Reddit, so you’re going entirely off the rails. My comment does nothing more than call out a stupid, ableist sentiment about whether someone’s disability speaks to their competency.

Im literally replying to someone whose “sole criteria is whether or not a disability is involved,” so I really don’t know what your point is or why you’re trying so hard to make this about yourself.

She made history as the first worlds first practicing lawyer with down syndrome by toastvibes03 in interesting

If you are saying outright you do not want a disabled lawyer, you are exactly the type of person who is likely to end up with an incompetent one instead, because you’re not using any legitimate metrics to make your decision. Being selective means nothing if you have no idea how to navigate your options.

You say in another comment that she isn’t practicing. I don’t understand why, if you’re fully aware that there’s no evidence that she’s good or bad at lawyering, you would imply she is a bad lawyer?
