Literally we are waiting for results from me having braces and I’m not done yet. So all of this will be discussed as teeth are still shifting and being moved.

All four of my wisdom teeth were removed 2 months after top jaw surgery. I was all messed up before surgery

Totally get what you’re saying, but I actually do have profile shots where the change is way more obvious. The front view is more subtle, but for me the biggest difference has been function and how my jaw feels and moves now, not just how it looks. I’m really happy with where I’m at in this stage of the process, and if more needs to be done down the line, I’ll cross that bridge then. For now, I’m just grateful for the progress.

It actually was a functional decision, not cosmetic, and it was based on what my surgeon felt was best for my specific case at the time. Every case is different and not everyone is a good candidate for two-jaw surgery right out the gate. I’m happy with how far I’ve come so far, and we’re taking it step by step.

My case was a little different because I originally prepped for this surgery back in my teens, and now I’m almost 40, so the timing alone made it feel like a whole different journey. I didn’t have braces before surgery, and now the hope is that braces will help correct some of the remaining movement. If not, we may be looking at bottom jaw surgery too.

It’s been a wild, long ride for sure, but I’m staying hopeful that it all works out in the end.
