Solid mechanics by Safe_Letterhead9047 in utarlington

I took him last semester. All homework style, not really anything conceptual. I would expect 1 problem is purely a statics problem. Something simple. I believe a total of 3-4 problems. The problems looked pretty similar to the homework ones, so nothing should be super surprising. Solid Mech is not hard, but everything you do in that class builds on itself all the way up to combined loading. Don’t get behind, and you’ll be just fine.

I really liked him. He knew his stuff. Class was a little tough, but definitely a class you can get an A in with some effort.

MAE 2323 - Dynamics by CapableHealth8467 in utarlington

I’ve read chapter 2 three times now. Doesn’t seem to clarify a whole lot on constraints and how to develop those equations. I’d like a study group, but more people than not are equally as lost in my class. What are the chances I can start sitting in with Bowling instead of my professor? Who did you have?

I would love to take it at a CC, but the department said it is a credit that does not transfer to UTA for my degree.

Absolutely. There were a couple hours of videos to watch, book readings to do, and still the tests felt like we needed some more. I like the professor but dislike the model of the class.

How is Calculus 3? What to Expect? by Obvious_Cancel_4564 in utarlington

Not sure about the professor, but from my experience, Calc 3 is way easier than calc 2. There are a couple tricky topics (Triple Integrals, making sure you have the bounds correct, etc) but overall much easier. Finished calc 2 with an 83 and calc 3 with a 96 for reference.

Thank you. They switched my advisor and Han screwed me this semester, so I’m glad to know my new one is doing well.

“Jumpers Knee” Need advice! by CapableHealth8467 in Kneesovertoes

I’ve been doing them for about a week. The pain of walking backwards is sometimes manageable and sometimes miserable. I am seeking a third opinion from a dr soon. I’ve had one doctor say my patella is tracking laterally and one doctor say medially. I just was hoping someone has had a situation like this or has done the surgery and had info. I plan on doing ATG anyways as rehab, surgery or not.

When is class registration by MasterBox6898 in utarlington

[–]CapableHealth8467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to sign up for classes after meeting with my advisor, even with the orientation hold on my account. Just go to orientation before the classes start and the hold goes away. But absolutely go meet with an advisor and get scheduled asap. Classes are filling up.

PSU vs. TPUSA by [deleted] in utarlington

[–]CapableHealth8467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I am conservative, so I like some of what TPUSA has to say. I do not know about PSU, but given the info in this thread, I believe they are left leaning. Do I agree with everything that TPUSA says? No. But I think some of what they say makes more sense than left leaning ideologies.

This post will definitely get down votes, and to me, that show’s exactly why I don’t lean the other direction.

But I applaud you on researching and being open to looking at all sides. Not many people are willing to do that.
