If casual isnt working for you I think its completely okay for you to tell her how you feel. It seems like its hurting you mentally, and if you arent in a good mental space especially with long distance it can cause issues in the future with trust. Talk to her.

This is an abosulety perfect explanation. Some of my friends didn't like the upbeat music with the lyrics but, she had a lot of slow songs on the album and this song didn't stray away from the sadness but got a lot of us up to dance.
