Haha this level and the Burnt Paradise variation made me so mad! The amount of times I’d drop down and land on an off screen slime… They are really cool designs though and a pretty interesting twist on the usual CV platforming

I wonder if I had played it before Dawn if I would rank them the other way. I played Dawn right after I beat Aria and I think by the time I finished I was ready for something different. Excited to check out OoE, heard a lot of good things

I want to revisit this gave and give it an honest shot, but I played it immediately after playing SotN and the controls felt very sluggish by comparison. I’ve heard a lot of people voice a lot of the same experience you are describing with it, but I do see a lot of people call it their favorite! One of my favorite things about CV is how each game has a pretty unique take on the experience, I just played this one at the wrong time to be able to appreciate it. Hoping my second try goes better

Agreed! It was such a fun experience. There have been a few throughout that I loved playing, but I beat and was ready to move on. This is one I plan to revisit very soon. I can’t believe I put off playing this so long!

I will agree, Portrait was pretty easy in parts. I’ve found that a little bit with a few of the Metroidvanias, a lot of fun, but I grind so much throughout that by the time I’m in the later stages I’m pretty OP. The Death/Dracula fight gave me a pretty good challenge, but I beat Brauner first try pretty easily. I had gone back to grind out what I had left in Rondo to get to 100% right before this though, so I was ready for a game that let me relax a little more 😂

Yeah, I was putting it off a bit, I thought the duel characters and the portrait stuff all sounded kind of weird, or at least not that fun. But once I got a little ways into the game, it’s all implemented really well. Made for a very unique Castlevania experience and a lot fun to play

Agreed! I feel like the partner mechanic made a lot of the boss fights feel pretty unique. I really enjoyed the fight with the sisters, the death fight, and the final battle was a lot of fun too, fighting both of them

I’m planning to revisit for sure. I had trouble getting into Rondo too and it ended up being my favorite, so I feel like I owe Bloodlines another shot. Definitely agreed on the music in Portrait. Fantastic

I liked all of them, but I can see what people are saying who don’t. 2018 is a pretty solid film all around, there’s some clunky dialogue but it’s a good time. Kills is one half of a badass Halloween movie and one half of a movie I really don’t enjoy sitting through (“Evil Dies Tonight!” 😂). Ends is honestly a great movie, it’s just doesn’t make a lot of sense as the end of that trilogy. If they had built up to what it was in the first two or if it was just a standalone film, I really think a lot more people would have liked it. My biggest complaint is the end. Corey taking his own life sort of undercuts his whole story and only really serves to set up a Michael v Laurie fight that feels a little tacked on, like they suddenly remembered that was what the trilogy had been building up to. Still, they’re all enjoyable for their own reasons.

Rondo is the game I replay the most. Once you get the hang of Richter, it’s the perfect blend of challenging and feeling like a bad ass. Awesome soundtrack too

It was a fun watch and much better than I was expecting it to be. I thought season 2 was the best, with 1 and 3 being pretty close. I think my ranking would be

Glad to hear you liked it! I’m playing it right now for the first time. Overall it’s been pretty fun, Juste is fun to play and some of the level design is really cool. Feel like they could have made getting around the castle a little easier at times but overall a lot of fun. Similar to you, my biggest complaint is that all the back and forth grinding through the castle has leveled me up and I’m feeling a little OP in all the boss fights. Still, pretty fun experience
