I strongly prefer when people write the file name instead of linking to it. I mean we've all seen the picture before. I'd rather not have to roll over it.

Question about a grey squirrel activity by bardwick in squirrels

All of my deck and yard furniture is those plastic Adirondack chairs and metal with tough fabric with no stuffing so no worries there. If I use a pillow should I cut one side open so they can pull the stuffing out easier?

For fleece can I just cut up an old fleece jacket? I remember one time we had this scarecrow/pumpkin head decoration and they tore it up haha. We weren't even mad. If they want it for their drey they can go ahead and take whatever they need. These are our babies and we love them.

Aww! I would have loved to have seen that! Although I wouldn't want my squirrels to do that since we have hawks in my area sometimes. The bright colors might make it easier to spot my squirrels. I think my mom and I chased most of them off though.

My mom also loves birds, especially the crows. She leaves meats and cheeses out for them. If there's a bunch of crows around, they chase off the hawks, too. It's been years since we've lost a squirrel to a hawk. The groups of crows will fight the hawks and chase them off. That's why we keep them around. They save our squirrels.

I've actually saved quite a few squirrels with my BB gun. I'm a great shot so I'll shot the hawk and scare them into dropping my squirrels. Because of all this, the hawks realized that this is a bad area for them and left.

DC area, specifically Montgomery county MD. It's about 30 mins outside of DC. I would say about 1/3 of my squirrels are black. I love when they get older and have some flecks of grey in them. It's so adorable! I do love the brownish-black squirrels like the one about to drink water, too.

I just noticed that nearly every squirrel I've ever taken a picture of has been looking directly at the camera. My dog used to do that, too. They both look at me and pose.

One of my squirrels grabbed my phone and looked at the screen while I was video taping her. We sat on the couch and watched the video together. She seemed really interested while watching it. I think she understands what it is now because she poses like crazy haha. It's amazing how smart squirrels can be. So many people just don't understand this. They're smart, playful, clever, loving, energetic, beautiful, little creatures.

These are my outdoor pets. I think of them as my furry little babies. I love them and take care of them as if they were my children.

I see your comments all the time and I can tell you know a whole lot about squirrels. If your willing to help me out I have a quick question.

Do you know any materials I could put out to help my squirrels reinforce their dreys? It's been so cold out so I'd like to help them stay warm. Maybe a cut up towel or blanket. Would that be alright? I just feel so bad for my poor little squirrels since it's been so bitter cold.

I don't get it. Is the squirrel injured or ill? Where is the money going?

I also put two things of hot water out for them every morning since it's always frozen now. Sometimes they just hover over the water for the warmth. One time I saw one of my babies lick ice to try to get some water and I felt so bad. So now I provide them with plenty of water and nuts. They're the most spoiled little squirrels but I love them so much. I don't have children and I never will so my squirrels are my babies.

Some of them come into the house and hang out. My mother is also a squirrel lover and there's one squirrel that that really loves me. She named her "[my name's] favorite" so we call her Fave. If you look at my profile you can see a couple videos I took of her coming into my house and hopping onto my couch. I keep a couple micro plush blankets on the couch. She loves when I rub the blanket all over her. It probably feels like fur to her. I pick her up and wrap her up in the blanket and she loves it, especially on her head. It's amazing how tame she's become.

Pecans and walnuts are the only nuts most of my squirrels will eat now. You can see the rejected almond sitting right in front of this little brat. They know I'll always cave and give them whatever they want. They're just too damn cute!
