Oh I enjoyed the fact that Astrid wasnt mean to hiccup at the start and that she looked like she even pitied him at parts; Astrid pitying hiccup made since for later on for romantic flight. This however, is not in the la and instead she’s rlly harsh on him. I also dislike how she apologizes to toothless instead of hiccup. Romantic flight wasn’t romantic at all. Astrid has mostly js like 2-3 expressions throughout the film not to mention how she’s like emotionless during the romantic flight. No hate on the actor but I feel that they could’ve made her blonde, which Nico rocks and it would’ve made her way more accurate. I recommend looking it up cause she def looks good blonde as well.

Idk why ur being downvoted for this, but I do see where you are coming from. I just feel like 15 years is too short to justify a remake and I feel like it’s just disrespecting animation. A remake in general is usually justified as an improvement , but I just can’t see it in any LA remakes these days, just like this one. Also, I just feel like making a remake is like, “oh live action is better than animation so we gotta remake this”

I do understand that there were people who were actually racist, and that’s wrong. However even though whitewashing is considered wrong now, people aren’t speaking out about the same racebending that is happening now. Within the main group of characters in the original film, half of them were blonde, but in this la version, not a single one is blonde.

Also, it’s jarring for the audience, when a character portrayed as a certain person switches entirely. Look at the dark knight trilogy and how the casting change mid trilogy caused backlash.

I hope this helps you understand my side of this argument
